What customers say
This family-friendly campsite has a relaxed vibe with rescue animals, a play area, and woodland walks. Guests love the friendly owners, clean facilities, and handy shop/cafe. Despite sandy pitches and occasional animal sounds, it's a great experience, with many planning to return.

A fantastic stay.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The site is rustic and beautiful and the owners are super friendly you can tell they're passionate about the place. The animals are mostly friendly too and for £1 (for a cup of feed) you can have them literally eating out of the palm of your hand. We pitched between the field with the donkeys and the pen with the Highland cow and goat. The field is mostly flat and free of debris and the geese swing by at night to make sure the grass is upkept. The toilets/showers were clean. The showers are really impressive, better than the one I have at home. We didn't use any of the facilities because we're antisocial but there was bar with food, also washing machine, a dryer, microwave, fridge, can get your stuff charged etc, it was well kitted out. The play park was cool too, I had a go on the swing even though I'm 40, loved it.

Very clean facilities!
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Couldn’t get over how fantastic our stay was at the sunflower park! It was so easy to find everything was sign posted. The kids loved been outside with all the animals around them. Lots of space for the kids to run and play around, not to add the amazing play area they had on the site for the children to play. When we stayed they had a pizza van come and make fresh pizza. Honestly we loved our stay and can’t wait to come back for more outside fun! Thank you for such an amazing stay!

Liked The site owners are a lovely couple who don't have 101 rules! Simple pitch up and relax. Lovely people to talk to, who will happily stand and have a chat with you!
Facilities are just what you need...showers (basic but working and hot water) toilets, washing up area, little gift shop that sells icecream and cold drinks, cafe if you don't want to make breakfast (highly recommend the sausage sandwich), its own little bar that has dart board and tv if you don't want to miss the match, play area for the kids (the trampolines were a great hit).
Saturday night the pizza van visited and I highly recommend the sunflower pizza (delish!)
We went on a lovely walk in the woods, visited the animals, fell in love with Erica!
The geese are amazing..and made my weekend!
Sunday night we were the only campers and it was so peaceful just listening to the geese talk to one another.
Wifi signal is hit and miss...this isn't a negative for me, as it just meant I could sit back and relax with no interruptions (there are parts of the park where signal is great if you have to have internet). We hired a fire pit for the weekend, had enough logs for 2 nights, and additional logs are cheap enough!
Disliked The sand isn't the best but it didn't stop us having an amazing weekend...just being some crocs that you can wash in the clean up area.

Great stay for camping - loved that it was a rescue animal farm
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Site was beautiful - natural surroundings, loved the animals, there was a bar on site and options for food.
Really relaxed vibes, fire pits allowed & we could camp near our friends.
Disliked Other campers didn't keep their dogs on leads, and allowed them to bark at some of the animals - not really acceptable pet owner behaviour, and could lead to dogs being disallowed?!

From the manager: Again, fair one👍🏻

Liked The site pitch number 6 we had was brilliant. Right near the pub and toilets and was enclosed good for our dogs .
Really lobed the enclosed part for dogs too.
Disliked Only downfall there is no Internet.

From the manager: Is no internet really a negative.
Come n relax. Make your kids play, away from screens

Everything you need is on sites on a well run site.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Facilities were all there, toilets, showers and washing up, all ready reasonably clean considering its a bust site at sites.
The animals add a bit of charm to the sites and watching them can provide hours of entertainment.
Disliked The place is popular at the weekend! Good for the sites but we had enjoyed having the place to our selves through the week.

Another fab stay
Powered grass campsite
Liked Warm welcome, Good size pitches, kids play ground has lots of for them to do, and the onsite bar. The animals are an extra bonus.
Disliked Toilet and shower facilities could do with an upgrade but work and are adequate

Fair review. We are regularly needing repairs and cleaning up. Beyond standard cleaning regimes.
Some visitors better them or allow children to dig. Get filthy then wreck the facilities sorting the kids out.
A lawsuit waiting to happen!

Liked The dog exercise field
Disliked Toilets/showers filthy, often without toilet roll. Rats around the toilets, which was also the pot wash area and chemical waste area. Lots of dog poo which had not been picked up. Pitch was completely just sand. Park was dangerous, exposed springs on trampoline, sunken trampolines with metal, bricks and rubbish etc stuffed underneath and weren’t properly covered, sharp metal scattered around park site, huge splintered bits of wood and unstable swing sets etc. WiFi £3 per device, per day, in an area with next to no phone signal

From the manager: What a load of cods wallop.
None of the points raised in your review were raised directly with any staff member during your stay. Yet you scored us 1/10 for customer service. Come on.
You gave us 2/10 for accommodation yet brought your own.
Ww received no reports of the toilets being dirty, out of paper nor infested with rats. Likewise on our periodic checks we found none of the issues raised
In 10 years we have never had a report of any rats in the areas you speak of.
No reports of dog poo from anyone on site and we were full.
Animals not kept appropriately. Based on what??
We are inspected by DEFRA, Trading Standards and the RSPCA. We too have countless testimonials from campers and visitors speaking only of our love and care of the animals.
Yes the three trampolines are dug into the ground. Meshing is sunken below ground level to prevent items being deposited beneath and more do to stop unsupervised children digging under to gain access beneath. No reports or nothing found consistent to your claims of sharp metals or splittered wood lying about in the play area.
What is tremendously alarming is you claim to have discovered these very dangerous conditions but did not act responsibly to remove or more importantly bring it to our attention. But again you scored us 1/10 for customer service.
Yes wifi is £3 for a day but it drops to £5 per weekend and only £10 for a whole week. So very competitive really
If you too had bothered to come and raised any concerns with us we would have explained that we actively discourage WiFi use as you are here relax. We too are very aware of the phone signal and it's shortcomings hence why we also discourage .
For those that simply can't do without wifi, maybe for composing inaccurate or false reviews, then we point out the better areas of coverage and explain that our wifi is starling and very expensive, but our commitment to customer service us such that we have it who can't do without.
This review will be contested as you are providing inaccurate or false information without any evidence.
What you have not given is an opinion based review as per pitchup policy.
You state factual issues without raising those issues at the time ( some of which are dangerous), provide no evidence and your review is completely at the other end of the spectrum of huge numbers of reviews posted in the last few months. They can't all be wrong and you right.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked It was a great site especially for the grandchildren who enjoyed seeing all the animals and there were a lot! They enjoyed the park too. We used the small shop a couple of times. The location was fab and we enjoyed a great walk through Laughton Woods.
