  • Spacious farm site in the grounds of an 18th-century mill house
  • Half an hour’s drive from Worcester and Hereford
  • Pizza oven, wet-weather barn and plenty of animals to meet
Peaceful days, nights spent unwinding and lots of time out on nature rambles… Does that tick your boxes? If yes, then trundle along to Linton Mill Camping, a family-friendly (and family-run) site 10 minutes’ drive from the Herefordshire village of Bromyard. In the grounds of an 18th-century mill house, this site is a brill mix of secluded and well placed. It’s in a remote field reached via unpaved path, but there’s plenty within easy reach to keep guests feeling like part of the world, starting with Hop Pocket (less than 15 minutes away) for picking up local treats and souvenirs, and for breadmaking workshops with the Linton Mill owner Peter Cook. Make sure to begin stays by sticking to explores on two legs though, as Peter and the rest of the site team will be more than happy to give advice and maps for circular walks in the area, and even help to arrange them. When it’s time to rest up, the site’s well set up: a stream meanders through the site for you to dip your toes in, the shared pizza oven ups the camping cuisine game (and don’t forget to order a local food hamper before arrival for treats and eats), and uncooperative weather can be survived with the board games in the wet-weather barn.
