Linton Mill Camping: Non electric grass tent pitch

General

  • Spacious farm site in the grounds of an 18th-century mill house
  • Half an hour’s drive from Worcester and Hereford
  • Pizza oven, wet-weather barn and plenty of animals to meet

Peaceful days, nights spent unwinding and lots of time out on nature rambles… Does that tick your boxes? If yes, then trundle along to Linton Mill Camping, a family-friendly (and family-run) site 10 minutes’ drive from the Herefordshire village of Bromyard.

In the grounds of an 18th-century mill house, this site is a brill mix of secluded and well placed. It’s in a remote field reached via unpaved path, but there’s plenty within easy reach to keep guests feeling like part of the world, starting with Hop Pocket (less than 15 minutes away) for picking up local treats and souvenirs, and for breadmaking workshops with the Linton Mill owner Peter Cook.

Make sure to begin stays by sticking to explores on two legs though, as Peter and the rest of the site team will be more than happy to give advice and maps for circular walks in the area, and even help to arrange them.

When it’s time to rest up, the site’s well set up: a stream meanders through the site for you to dip your toes in, the shared pizza oven ups the camping cuisine game (and don’t forget to order a local food hamper before arrival for treats and eats), and uncooperative weather can be survived with the board games in the wet-weather barn.

Please note

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

This was a great site - quiet and small which is just what I needed! I was just sad that I booked at the last minute and couldn't therefore order something from the bakery! The compost loo was great (I prefer them to ordinary loos), and the gas shower worked well. Mavis was really friendly. I had good advice about local footpaths and walked into Bromyard, and to Brockhampton National Trust place across the fields. Just sad I couldn't stay longer... There is a motorcross site in the next field, but as nothing was happening while I was there, I've no idea what it might be like in terms of noise when events are happening.

We loved the camping area as it was a beautiful area which felt safe. There were plenty of opportunities for the children to explore routes by the stream.
It felt safe and secure and we were made to feel very relaxed by Mavis.
Freshly baked bread and cakes came with ease and simply delicious.
    Liked the peace and quiet.
The toilet and shower block was good and great heat and power on the shower .

    Disliked:

Lack of bin space as we are keen on recycling
Would have liked a hot water source in the washing up area
