  • Quiet Gloucestershire site next to the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal
  • WWT Slimbridge and Severn Way within walking distance
  • Award-winning pub next door; opposite a café with bike and canoe hire
How about a Gloucestershire location where the views are pretty fabulous and there's plenty to do within walking distance? If that sparks your enthusiasm, take a look at Tudor Caravan Park, about a mile from the village of Slimbridge. This attractive location is right on the banks of the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal, with views towards the Cotswolds in the other direction. You’ll be able to get straight out onto the canal towpath for walks and bike rides, or some time fishing for bream from the popular area known as ‘The Patch’ (licence required). There’s an award-winning pub next door (how handy), and a café opposite that also has boat, canoe and bike hire. Beyond the canal is the River Severn, where you can get out for a scenic walk along the Severn Way or head up to see (or maybe even surf or kayak) the Severn Bore. And in between the two is the excellent birdwatching of WWT Slimbridge, about 15 minutes’ walk away. Turning back the other way, there are more walks a few miles away in the Cotswolds National Landscape, particularly along the Cotswold Way. So that’s all about out and about… what about the park itself? Well, it’s a quiet and family-friendly place with good-sized pitches and access to a collection of handy facilities including washing-up areas, a chemical disposal point, a launderette and two modern amenities blocks with showers and toilets, one refurbished in 2025 and both with underfloor heating to soften the blow of chilly days.
