Pepper pot cafe bar

  • Green and spacious park in Gloucestershire
  • Seven miles to Sharpness Canal and Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust
  • On-site café-bar serving breakfast, coffee and lunch
Greenery and space are on the menu at The Pepper Pot Caravan Park near Dursley in Gloucestershire, which is kept tiptop by its on-site and friendly wardens, who live in and are on hand for any advice or help needed by Pepper Potters during their stay. Facilities are well-maintained and in a purpose-built shower and loo block; an indoor washing-up area and a coin-operated washing machine are also on site. But one of the greatest bits about The Pepper Pot Caravan Park? The Pepper Pot Café Bar, a place to get your mitts on traditional breakfasts, fresh coffee, light lunches and children's meals every morning and afternoon. This is a very decent spot to use as a base for exploring Gloucestershire and its surrounds, particularly for those who like their wildlife or historic homes. Two golf clubs are within a quick drive, as is Berkeley Castle (10 minutes' drive away) and the Cattle Country Farm Park (five minutes' drive).

What customers say

This small, friendly, clean site has helpful staff like manager Nikki. Pitches are large with water. Spotless facilities. The Pepper Pot pub is popular. M5/railway noise is noted but manageable. Best for caravans/motorhomes.

Liked The welcome was very nice. Good facilities and level pitch. I think we were the only tent. Part of our cycle tour from Cheltenham to Bournemouth.

Disliked The noisy M5! Wow it’s so close. You can see the cars about 300 yards away. Better for caravans etc perhaps. Anyway, we managed to sleep.

Would not recommend for a family with young children.

Liked Free showers
Locked in for security
Supermarket not too far from campsite

Disliked Site felt very cramped pitches on top of each other no privacy the layout of certain areas are not ideal compared to pictures of the site, dusty pitches from lack of rain in general a noisy camp site. Noise from motorway and train unable to sleep at times. Shower facility wasn’t the best unable to shower younger children properly as unable to remover shower head. Temperature of shower unable to change again not ideal. No soap when visited the bathroom on a few occasions. Only two toilets and two showers for both male and female which is not enough for the size of the campsite was left waiting to use the shower at certain times. No play area for children apart from the pub which is not a dog friendly pub so was unable to go for food or use the play area for our kids. Found the campsite to be more of a stop off for further journeys and would not recommend booking for a week. No signal at times and no internet or WiFi available. Camera beeps by the gates which again adds to the noise. Felt the receptionist wasn’t that friendly upon booking and arrival. Will not be visiting again.
