  • A quarter of an hour's drive from Ross-on-Wye; Monmouth 20 minutes
  • Centrally heated bathroom blocks and laundry room
Right on the edge of the gorgeous Forest of Dean, Greenway Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a lovingly maintained site on an independent five-acre smallholding in Gloucestershire. What will you find here? Great grounds, for starters, plus pretty views and easy access to all the local area has to offer. You'll be pitching up a 10-minute walk away from the pleasant village of Drybrook, where there’s a family-friendly pub that also welcomes dogs. The village also has handy amenities like a post office, a fish-and-chip shop, butcher’s, pharmacy, petrol station and supermarket. A two-minute walk off the site and down the lane takes you into the woods and many different footpaths, most of which are bike-friendly. Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Gloucester are all within a half-hour drive, so you can spend a day exploring these historic towns and cities and still be back to base in time to watch the sun go down. Flat and level pitches are set in green pastureland, a short walk from the park’s excellent facilities, which include centrally heated bathroom blocks with toilets, sinks, power showers and hairdryers. There is also a washing-up cabin with free hot water and ice-pack freezing, plus a laundry room and a well-stocked visitor information area.

Liked Lovely site, only a few caravan pitches which we prefer. Great on site bar/cafe/restaurant and had a fab Sunday lunch there. Toilets/showers spotless.
Like that we could walk to the village stores/pub.

Disliked Would feel safer knowing there was a gate on the site.
Shame the cafe/bar closes at 5.

Quiet friendly site. Good amenities. Would use again.…

Liked Everything about this campsite was perfect for us. Lovely spacious pitches, really nice feel and atmosphere. Lots of open space for youngsters to play football/cricket etc. Toilet and shower blocks were very clean and modern with plenty of hot water. Onsite cafe was lovely with an excellent menu.

Liked Nice small location, the children loved the donkey, pony and goats. If you turn right out the site and walk for 5 mins up the road you’ll come to the start of a forest, we didn’t go straight on in there so not sure what’s straight but I imagine more forest but we turned right in the forest and took that track and it leads to a play park, fun for the children! Nice cafe on site with tasty food! Toilets and showers nice and clean.

Disliked Not a dislike but we were allocated our pitch on arrival, we were happy with the one we were given but we quite like how other sites allow you to allocate your own. However in the bottom field no matter what pitch you get it’s a busy main road behind so you hear cars driving past all day and all night. Not very relaxing. Not much around to do IE, forest tracks for walks only that one I mentioned before. Pub about 15 mins away ‘the hears of oak’, we walked in and immediately walked back out, awful smell and didn’t look clean at all, save the journey.

Liked I personally camped and the pitches were well maintained, broken off into smaller areas. Electric included in the price, no sneaky extras.

There is something for everybody accommodation wise. From being able to camp, caravan, sleep in pods or rented accommodation, allowing everybody to still attend a holiday if they prefer/need particular sleeping arrangements.

And the food on site is a must! A beautiful cafe with the most incredible food! Worth every penny and is affordable.

Location wise youre a short drive from alot of things to do, including popular hikes.

Liked Chilled site. The quality of the bathroom facilities are important for us, I'm a carer with my Dad. Big showers, disabled access solo shower and toilet, lots of room. Lovely and clean.
The food and service are great at the onsite eatery.
Nice vibe.

Highly recommend for families!!

Liked This campsite was perfect for me, my partner, our 9 year old twins and 1 year old baby. The facilities were spotless, the on-site cafe was incredible, the food was delicious, well priced and all the staff were so lovely, friendly and fussed the kids so much. The animals on site were a lovely touch too. We would highly recommend this place. Thank you so much.

Disliked Nothing. Everything was perfect!!!

Local attractions

Symonds Yat (20 minutes’ drive) sits on a rocky outcrop above the River Wye. After you’ve admired views of the valley and lush countryside (and perhaps spotted a peregrine falcon or two soaring above the water), you can take a stroll through the forest (there are several circular trails) or hire a canoe or paddleboard to take in the scene from a different viewpoint. Cross the River Wye and you’re in Wales, where you can spend a few hours wandering around the pretty town of Monmouth (20 minutes), with the stone Monnow Bridge, the Castle & Regimental Museum and a thriving high street lined with cafés and independent shops. The remains of Tintern Abbey (35 minutes) stand on the banks of the River Wye, and what remains they are. Built in the Middle Ages, this ruined edifice still impresses with its Gothic window frame decorating the facade and arches running the length of the nave. The green forested setting is no slouch either, with Lippets Grove Nature Reserve just across the river.
