  • Private lakeside glamping site amid woods and fields in the Cotswolds
  • A 15-minute drive from Cheltenham and 20 from Bourton-on-the-Water
  • Two shepherd’s huts, a lodge and a hot tub for exclusive use
Combine a couple of stylish shepherd’s huts with a lodge and a hot tub in a scenic 2.5-acre slice of the Cotswolds and what do you get? The Tree Nursery, an exclusive-use glamping site fitting up to six people in three different types of accommodation a 15-minute drive from Cheltenham. The huts, which sleep two people apiece, are joined by a walkway and share an ensuite shower room, kitchenette and woodburning stove. Each hut has a double bed and TV in it, and there's a wifi connection too. Outside, there’s a barbecue on the decking area and the hot tub is set among the trees. Guests also have access to the separate lodge with room to sleep another two people. It has its own kitchenette and ensuite shower room, along with a TV, double sofa bed and large decking area, and is just a few yards away from the huts. The whole site sits in woodland and fields full of wildlife; deer, pheasants, owls, foxes and badgers can often be spotted locally, whether on site or while wandering along footpaths in the nearby countryside. Spend days keeping a keen eye out for creatures, sitting by the site’s small lake or exploring the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Dogs are welcome at this park.

Local attractions

The hot tub at this park – and the nearby country surrounds – mean you might not want to venture too far. But if you do? Check out Cheltenham, a city of Regency-era buildings and fab shopping and drinking options (15 minutes’ drive), just west of the site. Alternatively, head north, east or south to survey the scenery of the Cotswolds and the protected area’s chocolate-box villages, including Bourton-on-the-Water and Upper Slaughter (a spot much prettier than its name might suggest…). Long a playground for the rich, the area is full of stately homes like Sudeley Castle (25 minutes) with its grand gardens and the handsome Blenheim Palace (50 minutes), home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family. For outdoor times with the chance of getting a glimpse of animals, bound around Birdland Park & Gardens (20 minutes) or the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens (30 minutes) before gazing at the gorgeous cultivated floral displays in Westonbirt, The National Arboretum (40 minutes). To take in more nature, top it all off with a walk to the region’s second-highest point, Broadway Tower (30 minutes), with its far-reaching views over the Cotswolds.
