General

  • Private lakeside glamping site amid woods and fields in the Cotswolds
  • A 15-minute drive from Cheltenham and 20 from Bourton-on-the-Water
  • Two shepherd’s huts, a lodge and a hot tub for exclusive use

Combine a couple of stylish shepherd’s huts with a lodge and a hot tub in a scenic 2.5-acre slice of the Cotswolds and what do you get? The Tree Nursery, an exclusive-use glamping site fitting up to six people in three different types of accommodation a 15-minute drive from Cheltenham.

The huts, which sleep two people apiece, are joined by a walkway and share an ensuite shower room, kitchenette and woodburning stove. Each hut has a double bed and TV in it, and there's a wifi connection too. Outside, there’s a barbecue on the decking area and the hot tub is set among the trees.

Guests also have access to the separate lodge with room to sleep another two people. It has its own kitchenette and ensuite shower room, along with a TV, double sofa bed and large decking area, and is just a few yards away from the huts.

The whole site sits in woodland and fields full of wildlife; deer, pheasants, owls, foxes and badgers can often be spotted locally, whether on site or while wandering along footpaths in the nearby countryside.

Spend days keeping a keen eye out for creatures, sitting by the site’s small lake or exploring the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Dogs are welcome at this park.

An amazing private site that gave us a perfect getaway. Theo (the owner) was very helpful before our stay and whilst we were there. Lovely complimentary milk/water/biscuits in the rooms and fire wood/matches/fire lighter. Kitchenettes and bathrooms well very functional despite their small size- we had everything we needed to cook meals and great extras too like egg cups, teapots and champagne glasses & a good hot shower with great pressure. Even a iron/ironing board and a hairdryer. We loved the hot tub, table tennis and badminton set. Even when there was an error on the hot tub that Theo noticed when he came and did his daily check, he had someone out to fix it quickly and made sure it had no impact on our day.
So glad we came and got to enjoy this place ❤️

Absolutely fabulous place. So clean and tidy when we arrived. The owner, Theo was extremely helpful from meeting us to guide us down, to coming by to check the hot tub water.
The hut and lodge were absolutely stunning. The surroundings were so tranquil and picturesque.
    Would definitely stay here again.

We had a superb family weekend at The Tree Nursery.

The communication from Theo as the weekend approached was excellent and this continued throughout the stay.

The children loved it - aged 6, 10 and 12. They had fun playing badminton, table tennis and pool and they ran around so much we were worried they would be too tired to enjoy the hot tub. Fortunately they stayed awake for that and the evening hot tub treat was just as enjoyable for them as it was for the adults.
The caravans and the small flat were very well furnished and spotlessly presented.
A couple of items of food we forgot to bring were easily found in the Sainsbury's local a short 1.8 miles drive away.

Perfect weekend break for a family. We will want to return again.

Delightful stay with all you need for a Cotswolds break!07/22/2021

Thank you Theo for a delightful stay at this incredible place. We were 4 adults with 2 children and the accommodation was very comfortable. The lodges and shepherd huts (2 huts expertly conjoined to produce one large unit) are delightful, welcoming and cosy with everything you need for your stay: utensils, towels and a kind provision of milk for tea! delightful! The surrounding land is private so we could run around and spend the day playing badminton when not exploring the Cotswolds, and later sat with a fire in the late evening after a BBQ. Theo was very accommodating, generous with his time and considerate, thank you Theo! This is such a lovely place and just the break we needed. We look forward to visiting again.

    Disliked:

Hot tub was awesome but did burn our eyes and after attempting a lower temperature late at night still resulted in some sore sensitive areas and tears! Don't let this put you off, it was regularly checked by Theo and kept thoroughly clean!
Wifi not available in the second lodge-perfect in the Shepherd huts-this may have been an error on our part but could not see a hub or booster, however we barely used it, but useful to know in case you do!

Perfect location, great for dogs as they have the freedom to roam. We all loved the bbq and fire pit in the evening along with the hot tub. We couldn’t have asked for me.

Local attractions

The hot tub at this park – and the nearby country surrounds – mean you might not want to venture too far. But if you do? Check out Cheltenham, a city of Regency-era buildings and fab shopping and drinking options (15 minutes’ drive), just west of the site.

Alternatively, head north, east or south to survey the scenery of the Cotswolds and the protected area’s chocolate-box villages, including Bourton-on-the-Water and Upper Slaughter (a spot much prettier than its name might suggest…).

Long a playground for the rich, the area is full of stately homes like Sudeley Castle (25 minutes) with its grand gardens and the handsome Blenheim Palace (50 minutes), home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family.

For outdoor times with the chance of getting a glimpse of animals, bound around Birdland Park & Gardens (20 minutes) or the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens (30 minutes) before gazing at the gorgeous cultivated floral displays in Westonbirt, The National Arboretum (40 minutes).

To take in more nature, top it all off with a walk to the region’s second-highest point, Broadway Tower (30 minutes), with its far-reaching views over the Cotswolds.

Must see

  • Sudeley Castle Gardens and Exhibition (7.0 miles)
  • Painswick Rococo Garden (8.1 miles)
  • Gloucester Cathedral (8.7 miles)

National Trust

  • Chedworth Roman Villa (6.0 miles)
  • Hailes Abbey (8.9 miles)
