  • Peaceful working farm site 20 minutes' drive from the Peak District
  • Chesterfield 10 minutes' drive; Chatsworth House 25 minutes
  • Spacious 13-acre campsite in the grounds of a listed farmhouse
Moor Top Farm is a spacious 13-acre campsite in the grounds of a listed farmhouse in the quiet countryside between Chesterfield and Sheffield. Located in a quiet rural area and only 20 minutes' drive from the edge of the Peak District National Park, this is a family-friendly site with bagloads of potential for walking and cycling holidays or chilled-out country breaks. The farm, which is on the edge of the village of Apperknowle, has two excellent pubs within walking distance (the nearest is just over a quarter of a mile from the site gates), and other facilities like takeaways, convenience stores and small supermarkets can be reached within a five-minute drive. There's lots of room here for families to unpack all their gear and get up to outdoor activities like barbecuing dinner or building a campfire, and well-behaved dogs are very much welcome at Moor Top Farm. If you fancy stepping out for a walk (with or without a four-legged friend), just head west for a couple of miles and you'll come to the Unstone Line, a flat former railway route with sections that run along the pretty river Drone. The facilities on site include a toilet and a cold-water tap.
