What customers say
This friendly, well-located campsite earns praise for helpful staff and canal walks/pubs. Pitches are spacious, facilities clean. BBQ/fire pit a plus. Some found facilities basic, noted occasional cleanliness issues, road noise, and a less-than-rural feel.

Liked I was a car camp with a tent on the back of my car the campsite welcomed me introduced themselves and informed me I could use all of the equipment on site which included a BBQ
Disliked One of the showers were broken.
Drain smell near kitchen

Scruffy unkempt site
Open field primitive grass campsite
Liked It is indeed close to the canal and what looks like a decent pub is in walking distance.
Disliked As others have said, this site is not quite what is suggested in their marketing spiel on pitchup. It is not quite the rural idyll that you might expect. There is constant road noise, albeit the road is not particularly close.
For the price we thought the shower/toilet facilities were basic at best. Although sinks, showers and toilets were cleaned the rest was a little grubby and it lacked basic things like shelving to put your washkit on by the sinks - other sites we have stayed at in the price range have had hand cleaner/soap provided.
And as others have stated, no one was on reception when we arrived and none of the phone numbers were answered - we went and found a pitch ourselves.
There was a lot of rubbish around the site, tents and caravans that had obviously been left unattended for some time.

Nice stay but needs to be cleaner.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The setting was lovely and there was a really pleasant and relaxed vibe about the place.
Disliked Showers and toilets were dirtier than other camp sites I've been to.

Great little site with fully level pitches
Powered grass campsite
Liked Lovely peaceful family friendly site with lots to do within 10-15 mins walk. The owner is very friendly.
Disliked Only used the facilities once quite late in the day and the sanitary bin was overflowing. The site was full so this may be why. The was also a horrible smell coming from the elsan point as you walk towards the top end of the site. The hot weather probably didn't help this.

Liked Great location perfect for what we needed. Showers/toilets a little basic but clean and well stocked given site was pretty full. Water was scalding! Loved that fire pits were allowed. When we arrived no answer on phone and we were in a rush to leave caravan and run. But owner really laid back when we caught up and explained. Owner helpful and friendly! Had a great time.

Would go back again, hopefully when it's a bit sunnier!

Liked Decent site with plenty of space. Near to a good pub. Toilets and showers are quite clean but the buildings themselves are in need of a clean. There were BBQ facilities available as well as fire pits and wood that you could buy. It was a bit wet for that when we were there but the idea is nice. Some local canal walks nearby.
Disliked No-one in the office on arrival and the phone went straight to voicemail so didn't know which pitch was ours. Eventually answered about an hour after arrival when I'd already picked a pitch at random and starting setting up. The guy was pretty relaxed about the pitch we did pick though so that was good. Couldn't find the chemical disposal point as it wasn't clearly labelled anywhere.
