  • Rural family-run site on a farm in the Peak District National Park
  • A 10-minute drive from Thor's Cave; 25 minutes to Buxton and Bakewell
  • Dog-walking area on site
There's a warm welcome all around at Hartington Hills, a farm site with helpful, friendly owners on hand. This family-run site is just under two miles from the Derbyshire village of Hartington, where there are several pubs and a few places to grab coffee. The farm is in the Peak District National Park, so it's in an excellent spot for those who want to set out on walking or cycling trails; cast your gaze a little wider and you can also easily hit stately homes, museums, activity centres and caves within half an hour’s drive. Buxton and Bakewell are both 25 minutes' drive away, and it may not have escaped the kids’ notice that the Alton Towers theme park just happens to be about half an hour's drive away… The site’s facilities include a launderette and modern bathrooms with underfloor heating, hot showers and a large wetroom for guests with reduced mobility or families hosing down wriggly kids. There is also a dedicated space for canines to let off steam.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked A very friendly site with great toilet and shower facilities - immaculate and cosy. A small shop within the reception area. Good dog walking field. They hire out fire pits and there are large stones by the bin area for use with the fire pits. All pitches are fully serviced and there is also a motorhome service point near the shower block. Most pitches are flat. There’s a wash up area near the shower block and an Elsan point in the middle of the site near the enclosed bin area. Wi-fi was good. The site is peaceful and looks like plenty of walking round about. The website gives further information on local pubs and ones further afield. Hartington village is around 2 miles away and a lovely place to visit.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Amazing time on our second visit. Facilities very clean, modern and warm. It was pouring with rain on the Sunday afternoon and evening, yet we had no problem in packing up and leaving from the hard pitch. We are planning our next trip to Hartington Hills in January.
