Peaceful site with excellent facilities and great location
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (adults only)
Liked I received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival. The small shop at reception was a convenient touch. The amenity block was outstanding, exceptionally clean and well lit, and the showers were excellent value at 20p for two minutes. WiFi was available around the reception and amenity areas, though I didn’t need it as EE signal at the pitch was strong.
I was directed to a specific field and invited to choose any available pitch. Arriving early, I had no trouble finding a level spot. While some of the fields are quite hilly, there are flat areas if you take the time to look around. It may be more challenging to find one during peak times.
The location is superb, peaceful and well away from main roads. Waking up to cattle in the neighbouring field was a lovely countryside touch. A public footpath runs directly through the site, so it’s not unusual to see walkers passing between tents. Following the path to the southeast leads to a charming honesty-box farm shop, which also accepts card payments.
Disliked My only minor dislike was the route to the amenity block from the field I was in, which followed the internal road through the campsite. This often meant stepping onto the verge to allow vehicles to pass, sometimes driven a little impatiently. It is more a reflection of fellow campers than the site itself, but a dedicated pedestrian path would have been a welcome addition.
Nice but wouldn’t stay again due to toilets being too far away.

Liked Pizzas. Fab staff. Clean toilets. Surroundings quiet at night.
Disliked Toilet block too far away. Noticed people were driving to them.

Great value for money. Simple, friendly and relaxing camp site.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (adults only)
Liked No frills but everything we needed. Just what we wanted to try out my son’s new 3 man tent before he goes off on his own adventures.
Clean toilets and hot showers. 20p for 2 mins ago. Washing up facilities. Small Farm shop offered all those extra bits if you needed, which was a welcome surprise. Could even buy extra pegs as got a bit windy.
Could order bacon roll, fresh hot buttered tea cake or croissant for breakfast or pizza for eve. Very tasty too!
Freezer to rotate your ice blocks. Tea coffee vending machine if you needed it too.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Altogether a lovely get away from it all mini break. Thank you. Had a lovely experience.
Disliked Nothing.
