  • Well-equipped Derbyshire touring site with easy access from the A517
  • A 10-minute drive to Ashbourne and the edge of the Peak District
  • Dog-friendly site a mile from Hulland Ward's village pub and farm shop
Parking up for the Peak District? Take your tourer off to Ashbourne Touring and Camping Park, a well-equipped park in a handy spot just off the A517 a mile from the village of Hulland Ward. Easy access from the main road means it’s nice and straightforward to get set up at this Derbyshire site – and that location also means you’ll be handily close to the village’s pub and farm shop (a useful source of supplies for your barbecue back at base). Bus services from the stop just outside can take you into nearby Ashbourne – or you can drive over there in about 10 minutes. In fact, everything here has been designed to make life nice and easy for guests, with well-kept ample toilet and shower facilities, a chemical disposal area, a washing-up area and a launderette provided. Dogs are welcome to join you on site as long as they're well behaved. The wifi service provided is also likely to come in handy, given that you'll probably want to plan lots of days out around the area. The edge of the Peak District National Park is about 10 minutes' drive away, as is the start of the traffic-free Tissington Trail, so you'll be in a good position for getting out to explore the lovely landscapes. And there are plenty of other attractions around too, including Alton Towers and the Chatsworth estate.

Liked Overall this was a decent campsite. The facilities were good and a great location for Carsington Water for water sports and walking and Dovedale.

Disliked EE coverage here and in the immediate area is pretty poor. Whilst this is not the campsites problem, WiFi is. The WiFi on site was really poor, in fact over the bank holiday none existent which was a real issue for us but maybe not for other campers.

From the manager: Hello, it is very disappointing that you felt a 1 was necessary for your 4 day stay with us.
There may not have been staff in sight when you arrived, but a clear note on the door was left for you with all the information needed for you stay and a pitch number with a map, there is also a contact number on the door for any issues that may arise. There would have been staff in reception every morning at 09.00 and staff cleaning the toilet block every day between 10.00 - 11.00 for you to have approached for your concerns, we could have moved you to another pitch. We do except groups of families and friends which are normally well behaved, we have never had any issues.

Overall a great stay, would definitely stay again.

Liked Very peaceful site, great dog walking fields. Toilet and showers kept very clean.

Disliked No wardens there when we arrived. Reception locked up. They’d left a leaflet with pitch number, site rules, ext pinned on the board. Would of been nice to have an email explaining this.
