  • Wild camping on a farm in rural Chetwode village, Buckinghamshire
  • A 20-minute drive to Silverstone Circuit and 15 to Bicester Village
  • Grass pitches, woodland walks on site, pubs and shops in 10 minutes
Barton Hill Farm offers up a peaceful wildflower meadow for a back-to-basics, off the grid, wild camping experience. There’s a couple of traditional pubs in the local villages of Bisset (five minutes’ drive) and Tingewick (10 minutes), as well as fish and chips, pizzerias and curry houses in Buckingham (10 minutes). It’s also your best bet for sourcing supplies, with a couple of handy supermarkets. You can wander woodland walks around the farm, and potter into the quiet Buckinghamshire village of Chetwode (10 minutes’ walk), to poke around the 13th-century St Mary and St Nicholas Church – it’s got some wonderful stained-glass windows. History buffs, Buckingham’s Old Gaol has tours of the former cells, and further afield, you can easily spend a day in Oxford (40 minutes), the City of Dreaming Spires, with its riverside walks, medieval Bodleian Library and spectacular art collections at the Ashmolean Museum. Channel your inner F1 driver on the track at Silverstone Circuit (20 minutes), and if you’re after a new wardrobe, there are fab bargains to be had in the designer outlet stores at Bicester Village (15 minutes).
