Everything was fine. The site was…

Sept 2026

Liked Everything was fine. The site was quiet and the facilities were ample.

Disliked We didn’t find the site deserving of a £52 per night fee. We have usually found sites in this bracket have more to offer. The dog walk was on the road. We were told we could use a field that didn’t belong to the site to walk the dog then on both occasions we were told we weren’t really welcome by the owner. Other than the trees, the garden was underwhelming and the facilities were quite basic and shower doesn’t have an adjustable thermostat so was too hot for me. No shop or bar or communal area other than a really dated room that might be okay for children to congregate. The reception was unmanned both times I tried to visit.

Good facilities, friendly welcome

Dec 2025

Liked Good basic facilities, reflected in the price, walking distance to town for co-op, pubs, take out restaurants. Pubs not the best but friendly enough. Take away (Chinese was okay but kebab and pizza wasn’t brilliant) was edible after a couple of pints. Walking distance to train station, only £5 return to Skegness, we went into Skegness and won’t be returning. Probably okay if you have kids and it’s warm weather. Friendly welcome by staff. We did get woken by workers picking veg in the nearby field shouting early in the morning but nothing the site could control.

Disliked No good walks from the site. My husband tried to walk our dog both mornings and just kept coming to dead ends and most of the roads have no paths.

From the manager: Hello Lucy S Thanks for your honest review. Next time you call, speak to Chris with reference to walking your dog. We do have some nice walks that suit people with dogs.

Top site for relaxing, groups, families, couples. Can’t fault it.

May 2025

Liked Beautiful site in the middle of gorgeous countryside full of wildlife and nature. Excellent modern, clean amenities and friendly helpful staff. There’s a brilliant walk around the site, a good half hour to an hour’s walk with a massive off lead dog field. Lots of places to eat and shop within a short driving distance, restaurants, pubs, shops and takeaways all within 10 minutes drive. The EHU field has been busy on both our visits but the pitches are massive and they cater to groups with communal spaces. The non electric field is peaceful and spacious with loads of room in the centre for kids to play safely. We hired a huge fire pit which cost £20 for the night and came with 2 firefighters and enough firewood to last a few hours. Delivered to our pitch within 15 minutes of booking. Our first stay here was a last minute one night stay over and we came back for the bank holiday weekend within a number of weeks. We were told not to rush off in the morning. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back again soon.

Disliked We usually enjoy a communal area/ bar/ seating area but there is a good flow and atmosphere here so not a huge problem.

There’s a really lovely pub in…

Apr 2025

Liked There’s a really lovely pub in the nearby village which has a great menu and was very friendly

Disliked Nobody around to greet us. No reception sign. I had to phone them and wait ages for someone to come. The site is unkempt and the pitches are squashed in haphazardly. Half the site was a permanent residence and the vehicle were old and dirty and surrounded by mess. The hard standing area was more like a car park, gravel full of weeds. There wasn’t an electric pitch available for us even though we had booked one, so he offered us a patch of grass behind a wall where we could reach a hookup which was probably the best place on the site. Toilets were not bad but not good enough. There aren’t any good walks around here and the roads have no paths.. We will not be returning unfortunately

No staff, basic facilities, bit of a disappointment

Apr 2023

Liked Peaceful spot. Unspoiled landscape. Not too far from pubs and shops.

Disliked Only one cabin containing a basic bathroom and a sign instructing you to clean the facility after every use. Not sure why cost was so high for the most basic facility with bare minimum service provided. We’ve paid less for more on many occasions.

From the manager: I'm sorry to read this review but equally don't feel it is an accurate reflection of our site as previously reviews show. A good example of the contradiction is you have given us a 3 for location and accommodation(?) yet commented what a peaceful unspoiled landscape it is close to pubs and shops. The toilet/shower block is kept immaculate with extra effort over the busy bank holiday and I can only imagine it might have been slightly muddy due to the rain showers and people wearing shoes in there, also as mentioned by others we get rave reviews for the shower with people saying its better than their one at home. The sign simply asks people to respect other users and keep the facility tidy we don't expect anyone to clean it for us. The block is a single but that's advertised & was initially installed to cater for camping, previously we had no such facilities for motorhomes/caravans because these are often self sufficient. I can only apologise we didn't catch you whilst you were on site but you were only here for one night and we don't offer a check in service. I am surprised that no one caught you though because usually either myself, my parents in the farm house or our friend who lives on site and looks after the toilet/shower block will speak to guests and again as other reviews state we are incredibly friendly. We are however a working farm and 99% of visitors whether to the camp site/caravan park or holiday cottages understand that. We're only a phone call/text away or a simple knock on the door. I also don't think we are over priced - especially not considering we don't charge extra for dogs, extra cars, extra guests etc and are very lenient on many other things. We're fine with you not visiting again and please feel free to contact me for a refund.

Small open grass area leading down…

Aug 2022

Liked Small open grass area leading down to a patch of river lined with trees.

Disliked We didn’t stay. We found a different site and drove off within the first 15 minutes. Nobody answers the phone, I tried calling umpteen times. Then took an age to come and greet us on arrival and just said go anywhere down there. Pitches were small, close together and tricky to manoeuvre. Local town was completely shut down on a weekday afternoon. We couldn’t even get a meal anywhere. The on site bar was closed during the week and looked like it was abandoned anyway.

Good basic site, shame about the loo’s

Jul 2022

Liked Great open top showers. Clean and lovely hot water. Good supply of water and washing up facilities. Great for kids and dogs to run freely.

Disliked The exit from the field is a grass hill, we got stuck as it was raining, however the owner came quickly and gave us a tow for which we we’re grateful. The lavs were chemical toilets and by the time I needed to go in the late morning they were too dirty so we had to go into town to find facilities.

Liked Love this site. Excellent location with great walks and views. Excellent facilities. 10 minutes from the lovely town of Dolgellau. This was our second visit and we will definitely return. Fridge/freezer available to use is a nice touch but remember to label your items or they will be thrown away.

All around great site

Aug 2022

Liked Beautiful shower blocks, very clean and spacious. There were even pampering cubicles with complimentary toiletries and hairdryer/straighteners. The dog field was a nice touch with obstacles which my border collies loved, well kept grounds would recommend/revisit.

Disliked Pitch wasn’t level and the site is very open to the elements and the weather kept me awake most of the night

Great site excellent facilities

Oct 2020

Liked Friendly helpful staff. Good location with lovely view. Cosy bar with wood burning stove.

Disliked We were looking forward to pizza night but realised on the day we needed to order the previous day. All local restaurants were fully booked so we came home on the last night of our stay as the weather was too bad to cook out. (None of which was really the sites fault). Wouldn’t stop us from revisiting and making sure to ore order the pizza next time.
