Wonderful green site with low light pollution in a great location

Sept 2026

Liked Ive been solo camping for years and Plas yn Langoed is on of the most magical and safe feeling sites Ive ever stayed at. Despite everything being made from repurposed materials, the facilities were spotlessly clean, plentiful and stylish. I stayed in a blackout bell tent and slept very well. Other highlights are the views of the Carneddau mountain range, the dark sky, close proximity to Beaumaris and the Ynys Mon coastal path and absolute peace at night. Only an owl broke the silence. Do take a head torch. Towering above these highlights stands the owner Emily. She is passionate about the business and land, she is funny and friendly and you'll be hard pressed to find a warmer welcome.

The super friendly welcome and guidance…

Jul 2026

Liked The super friendly welcome and guidance on check in. I was travelling alone and Ed gave me tips on the quieter pitches. Felt very safe. He also checks in with everyone later on to see if theyre settled and happy. Each numbered pitch has Superb views with spectacular sunset over Thorpe Cloud and Tissington Hill. The campsite has a quiet time policy between 10.30pm and 7am which is wonderful for a hiker getting up and out early. Will definitely be coming back with a couple of hiking partners.

A glamorous campsite in a beautiful village

Sept 2023

Liked First time camping as a solo female traveler, wanted to do this for a while so I could hike alone early the next day but was nervous . (Theres so many great walks from Alstonefield). I felt very safe and relaxed here. Its a gated campsite, small and immaculate. The pitches are level and separated. There’s neat manicured hedges round the campsite that makes everything look tidy and gives a private feel to the pitches . The bathroom facilities are not only spotless they are gorgeous, as good as any boutique hotel. I have camped for years and have never had a rainfall shower! The site is peaceful, another review mentioned noise from flight path. Its not under a flight path as such but hiking in the Peak District you can always hear planes without actually seeing them, the sound echoes round the hills so you’ll get this wherever you camp. Its not very loud but if you are a light sleeper and this will bother you bring ear plugs. Will definitely be back for a hike next year but will stay two nights

Excellent site, helpful friendly hosts and interesting surroundings

Sept 2023

Liked Lovely relaxed eco site with good clean facilities. Great kitchen to use, being able to boil a kettle in the morning feels like cheating but as a coffee addict, its bliss. There’s several camping options, we camped in the smaller field which was great for my quiet teenage boy. The larger field has an amazing playground in it. The whole place is so interesting for children to explore and has a really chilled and safe vibe. My son had his first ever river swim by the site, encouraged by the lovely Pete and Seb. I really enjoyed sitting in the sun and watching. It really is an eco site, seems nothing is wasted in creating the facilities. The owners have worked really hard here to make something special that doesn’t impact the environment. *Really reasonable rates and fire pit hire *Loads of places to go nearby *Easy to find if you out the name of the centre in sat nav not postcode *No road noise *great place to watch sunset *dark sky *level pitches

Pitch Perfect

Aug 2023

Liked Someone else on here called this the Best Campsite in Wales, so we thought lets see about that…and they were right. Beautiful location with breathtaking views of the Clwydians, immaculate pitches and surrounding grounds, the cleanest facilities including a fully stocked kitchen and games/chill out room. I did not need to take my kettle! More than reasonable rates for what you get. All that pales into significance when compared with the friendliness and warmth demonstrated by the hosts, Raymond and Rose. You will be hard pressed to find nicer owners, they really do care about their guests. We brought a bit of bad weather with is, and Raymond allowed us to leave later to avoid packing down in the worst weather and even helped som and I take the tent down. I always say we will be back, and this time we definitely will. Thank you Raymond and Rose

Liked You will struggle to find better views in the UK. Simply breathtaking. Didn't have the best weather at night and was considering bailing after night one, until I stepped out in the morning to views of Llyn Padarn, Yr Wyddfa and a range of other Snowdonia peaks. Absolutely worth the night rain. This is a basic facilities campsite with added bonus of compost toilet and hot shower Considering the location it has really good flat pitches. Car not by pitch so don't bring the sink. Host were very friendly and took my son and I to meet their animals including the biggest newborn lamb we have ever seen. It was like a puppy. Quietest farm I've ever stayed in. Only birds to wake us.

Beautiful site, absolutely lovely host

May 2022

Liked The views from this hillside campsite are outstanding. It is a hill, which is explained upfront in the description so no surprises there. We picked quite a slope pitch but that’s because it had the best views so totally worth it. Facilities are kept very clean and toilet paper well stocked. Shower is £1 but well worth that as you get 5 mins and its hot and powerful. The location is great for hiking. My son and Hiked up to Llynnau Cregennen and Arthog Waterfalls on a trail that starts from the campsite. We also walked to Barmouth, both stunning and interesting walks. Above all, the best thing about this campsite is the wonderful warm and welcoming owners. They genuinely care about the campers and work tirelessly to make sure everything is right. Bethan has a wealth of local knowledge and made me feel safe and cared about. My son and I will be back

Stunning Forest floor camping away from everything.

Aug 2021

Liked This is as close to wild camping as you can get from a pop up site, so if you want the experience without having to ask permission from land owners or risk getting move on this is the place. Beautiful green forest floor camping, choose your pitch anywhere within the boundaries on the map provided. Look for something level and spongey. Totally dark at night and the only sound was wildlife, such as a couple of chatting owls and a horse. Whilst brushing our teeth one morning , a herd of deer passed through the woods. Compost toilet was very clean and not smelly. There were other campers but we couldn’t see them, the woods are quite dense and lush. Take good note of guidance about the track up not being suitable for cars without 4wheel drive. I did see a family car make it which gave me false hope, but Sigourney the Suzuki Alto did not. Luckily I can reverse really well. The track up is v steep, there are wheelbarrows part way up but the workout is half the fun. Take only the basics and you’ll be fine. As there was no signal at all, we went to see the very friendly and helpful owners in Lower Hall Farm, they brought us up some logs, a pit and a water butt for washing. Will definitely return, maybe with some stronger arms.

Disliked Not owning a 4 x 4. 😂

Fantastic field camp with level pitches and springy grass

Aug 2021

Liked Very warm Gloucestershire welcome from the minute we parked up. Beautiful ‘pitch up where you like’, field with the comfiest crunchiest grass we have camped on. Very reasonably priced especially the wood and slab for a campfire. The portaloos were spotless. We took a recommendation from the owner to get take out fish and chips from the restaurant across the Road. Wasn’t your usual chippy , very posh , definitely the nicest fish Id ever had. A really Quiet night and a good sleep. Had a lovely walk down to local beauty spot Garden Cliff on the River Severn; another recommendation from the owner. Definitely will stay again when next travelling down south. Oh and the best thing was the amazing sunset views, it seemed like the whole campsite watched in awe

Disliked Owners asked if could suggest any improvements. Can’t think of a single one

From the manager: Wow - thank you so much for these kind words, we are absolutely blown away! It sounds (and looks) like you had a fab time and what a sunset you captured! We look forward to meeting you all again next year. All the best Steve & Brenda

A beautiful clean site with large level tent pitches. Simply wonderful

Aug 2020

Liked The friendly owners, Emma could not have been more accommodating, even moving our booking when Storm Francis hit. The campsite is immaculate and Emma took the time to show us round the farm to meet piglets, calves and chickens. We even got to see two calves being born and my son got to name one. We were really unlucky with the weather but we had a brilliant time and met some amazing fellow campers. This is a beautiful peaceful campsite, suitable for families, solo travellers and couples. Anyone really but not somewhere to go wild and party. The tranquility should be preserved.

Lovely roomy warm pod. Quiet surroundings

Oct 2019

Liked Lovely lay out, toasty pod. Lots of storage. Comfortable bed and bigger than it looks on the picture. Big bathroom with roomy shower. Well insulated and designed. Beautiful area, didn’t get to see much though as we checked in during a rain storm that lasted 2 days. Area flooded, I fell over. Fridge makes a slight noise, not all the time, on a cycle . Soft basic ear plugs will help if you’re a light sleeper. Not a complaint just advice to fellow light sleepers.

Wonderful site, easy to find, friendly owners

Oct 2019

Liked There is something truly magical about this site. the view is very very beautiful, The pitches are spacious and the facilities are exceptionally clean and well thought out. we stayed in the smaller shepherds hut with an en-suite. Despite the torrential rain on the the first day, It was cosy and warm. The hut is spacious. It’s quiet and dark at night and lovely and light in the day. The fridge makes no noise. The lay out is good, perfect for 2 people. The owner Joanne, was really kind. Because of the weather And flooding she let us check in early and then came to check on us once we had arrived.
