Nice site

Aug 2026

Liked The staff were very friendly and we were welcomed on to the site and shown our pitch right in the corner of the ‘electric’ field. A view across the hills. We saw a few small aircraft movements while we were there. There was a pizza van on site, Tuesday and a pop up bar on Saturday.

Disliked Nothing really.

High price, mediocre site

Jun 2026

Liked We got checked in quickly- the site was 30% full even though a sign said ‘site full’? The site is clean Small shop on site Riverside location Quiet

Disliked No wi-fi code given out. We were parked in middle of field next to two other campers. There were loads of vacant pitches around us. The showers last for about 5 seconds before the need to push the button again.

Lots of nice touches

Jul 2024

Liked The site was easy to find, just head for Culdrose RNAS. Within easy reach of Helston town. Large field, sloping in part. The owners were friendly and have made an effort to make the site friendly. There were lots of nice touches, like toys and games for children and a book exchange. Fridge/freezer for campers use.

Disliked Elsan point has a remote tap. Fresh water tap/hose rests on floor. No wi-Fi and whilst we were there, no 5G.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and constructive feedback. -We find having the remote tap for the Elsan ensurse people don't fill the CDP with too much water! -I have removed the hose from the drinking tap ( hadnt really thought about it!) -we dont offer WiFi i'm afraid and like lots of rural parts of Cornwall the phone signal can be a little intermitent. It is something we are thinking about for the future We hope to see you again when you visit Cornwall Rachel

The Cross Keys Inn

Quite level, pub nearby.

May 2024

Liked The site is on a crossroads just off the A37 about 8 miles from Shepton Mallet and 13 miles from Yeovil. There is a lot of greenery and bushes around the actual site and the Cross Keys does seem to have a decent menu. There are unlimited hot showers, although a £20 deposit is required for the key. The toilet block itself is clean.

Disliked The pitches are marked with 4 foot poles stuck in the ground which are rather unsightly as is the wire that goes across the field to seperate pitches. There is not a water tap on the field, there looks to have been one at some point. Pitches 1-4 have some road noise from the A37. The cdp lid does not stay open (fair enough) so you have to hold it whilst trying to empty your toilet.

Flat, level, fair price.

May 2022

Liked Just got back from this site. It was easy enough to find. We were advised to pitch up where we wanted and notify the site by text of arrival. We didn’t see any staff on site and a reply to text took 24 hours, this had the gate code. The pitches were level and of good size. All separated by quite newly planted trees. We are not using washroom facilities but there is a shower room, one for each sex and a communal toilet. There is a washing up ‘trough’ with plenty of hot water. There are some nice walks direct from the site along the banks of the river Severn with really nice views.

Disliked Stone the crows. This is a working farm, so there are farm sounds, to be honest the cows were not the issue, but there are a lot of crows around and they are noisy from dawn to dusk. They go quiet during the night.

Tidy site, but not really peaceful

Aug 2020

Liked Email from owner about site facilities (only dish washing is open at this time)and local activities. Also a voucher and directions to site. Site was clean and tidy and the owner did seem to care about the site, regularly tidying up. There was sanitizer by the water tap, some people used it, others not. It didn’t bother us but there are no kids play facilities-some were playing with the only water tap!

Disliked Constant noise from M5 so if you are a light sleeper this may bother you Grass was mowed everyday, hardly a peaceful experience

A nice site we would be happy to return to

Oct 2019

Liked Quiet, dated but clean toilet block, space around pitches We arrived at 1700 on a Thursday, the reception seemed closed but we were greeted anyway. A quick explanation of the park and off you go. There is a barrier but this is ANPR operated so you do need to book in and book any extra vehicles. There are a couple of super pitches, a couple of gravel pitches and several grass pitches plus a large tent field. The site is easy to find and although Martock is a small town, there is a co-op and chip shop there about 3 miles away.

Disliked I thought there could be more lighting along the pathways and around the toilet block.

Clean toilets, lots of ‘permanent ‘ tourers.

Jun 2019

Liked Toilet blocks

Disliked We had a small pitch (13) barely able to fit a caravan and car on it. There was no views, I didn’t expect to see a herd of wildebeest but would have been better than a hedge or worse someone’s tent, had their been any there. The shop was only open it seemed when Poppies cafe was open so we never got in there during our 4 day stay.

From the manager: What a pity you didn't come in to reception and ask if there were any alternative pitches if you were not keen on the one allocated to you. We are always happy to look for alternatives with you to make your stay more enjoyable , after all it is your holiday and we want it to be right for you. We're pleased you liked our facilities and the cleanliness of the showers and toilets. The staff are always keeping an eye on them to make sure they remain clean at all times and a jolly good job they do too. I see you are indicating that you might not wish to return which would be a shame as we do offer various types of pitches in all the different fields and we are sure there are many pitches suitable for you. Once you've been here and had a good look around you get an idea of your preferences for the next time you visit. The park has a lot to offer and i'm confident if you spoke to us when booking again we could help you get the right pitch to meet your needs.

Good stay, good facilities

Apr 2019

Liked We were actually given the option to move from Highlands End to the sister site, Golden Cap which we did. This was because of expected high winds. Having stayed at both, I can say that both sites are well kept, clean and tidy and the staff are generally friendly. The locations are different, one, Highlands on the cliff top, one, Golden Cap on the beach. Martins Bar at Highlands is worth a visit, the meals are very good.

Disliked I wish the price was a bit lower, £25 a night for a touring caravan.

From the manager: We are so pleased that you have now experienced two of our parks and have found them both clean and tidy.

Clean, flattish, narrow access

Oct 2016

Liked The grounds were clean- it was a quiet period with not many people on it. Nice kids area

Disliked Narrow access roads- particularly in the dark No wi-fi near our pitch
