Liked Light, airy bell tent with super comfy beds and beautifully decorated with fairy lights, throws and cushions. Well appointed outside cooking facilities with cool box and bbq/fire pit.
Extremely clean and modern shower and toilet facilities close at hand.
Lots of space in the peaceful countryside with cool, shady walks alongside the reservoir which were great for our dog in the heat.
Lovely local Village cafe in Ticknall did an amazing full English.
Rupert and Kerry were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Unpowered grass site
Liked Very clean and well organised site with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Disliked Although dogs are permitted, I felt unwelcome to take my dog freely around the campsite without fear of breaking the strict rules in place and this led to me being unable to relax fully.
Continuous background noise from the nearby quarry, even during the night, spoilt the ambience of the site.

From the manager: Hi, I'm sorry you felt like this and you are welcome to walk round as long as your dog is on a lead, so if that is what you did then why did that make you feel unwelcome I dont understand ? We dont charge for dogs and are very happy for people to bring them, but unless they were all kept on leads then there would be a problem, the main one being dog mess which for a family site is totally unacceptable. We also have hens roaming around and sheep in adjoining fields, we do have a large dog walking field where you can let your dog off ! Unfortunately the quarry noise can sometimes be heard depending on the wind direction something we cannot control.
