Liked This campsite is exactly what camping should be. Facilities were very clean and the showers were great. Jo is absolutely lovely and always up for a chat which I really appreciated as I was camping on my own. The pizza and croissants were a lovely luxury and having a pitch rather than just a free for all was a lot less stressful. Will absolutely be coming back for a weekend escape. There were sooo many stars at night and there was wildlife everywhere - lots of little birds and a bunny which kept popping it's head out. Loved that there was no signal and no music (finally a campsite that says no music and means it🙌). Stunning scenery for walking

Welcoming and peaceful site with very clean facilities. Great scenery
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Loved the location, peaceful, stunning views and great base for walking. Amazing for stargazing. Nice to see the chickens roaming free around site. Always made to feel welcome . A little shop on site in case you forget any essentials. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Excellent pitch sizes cleverly marked out with longer grass strips and loved the firepit being available on each pitch.
Disliked Could do with a few more washroom sinks for busier times and peak season to prevent big queues!

Liked Jo is such a friendly host, made us very welcome and a wealth of local knowledge.
Lovely site, and peaceful, even when busy. All the guests were very respectful of the chilled vibe of the site.
Must try the pizza, it was phenomenal. And being able to buy fresh eggs from the hens clucking round the site was lovely.
Fab toilet blocks, very regularly cleaned, and easy access ice block freezing such a bonus in the hot weather.
Disliked Nothing.

Liked Great site, lovely setting, nice and quiet, really enjoyed my stay here.
Travelling by motorcycle, there are some great roads in the area and the site is set in a tiny hamlet called Marsett, a 15 minute or so walk gets you into Hawes.
I stayed Friday to Saturday (but paid for two nights as that’s the minimum stay), it works out at £13.00 a night or £26.00 for one which even so, is still quite reasonable.
The site has well laid out pitches with lots of room, each has an old wheel that is used as a fire pit.
The lady who owns the site was very nice, she has a shop that is open at times during the day for basic items & firewood and a big pizza oven for weekends.
Great for families, I’d definitely stay again.
Disliked Not really a criticism, but the shower / toilet / washroom for guys has two sinks, two showers & two toilets. The sinks are directly behind the door, didn’t take long for it to become quite busy!
Get in there early!
