Disabled travellers seeking suitable camping and caravanning accommodation can now find the ideal site with the onsite facilities to ensure a comfortable stay.
Camping and caravanning website www.pitchup.com offers disabled travellers an easy way to filter through more than 5,000 accommodation options to select sites which have onsite disabled facilities, and refine their search with other criteria, such as dogs allowed or family friendly.
There are currently 612 campsites around the UK listed on www.pitchup.com as having disabled facilities onsite.
Daniel Yates, Managing Director, Pitchup.com, says the depth of search on the site is its most unique feature, as there are multiple search options for holidaymakers to carefully select the campsite or holiday park that meets their needs best.
“With such a wealth of accessible accommodation in the UK, our accessible search allows customers to drill down further into what exactly they want from their holiday so they can make the best choice for their own needs.”
To make the journey to the campsite even easier, Pitchup has also joined forces with TomTom so customers can navigate quickly to the campsites and holiday parks.
The partnership gives customer the ability to download locations to their TomTom satellite navigation devices by clicking the "Add to TomTom" button”* on the Pitchup.com website.
*The button is visible on Pitchup.com in the top right-hand corner of campsite pages or the “places to go” section, for example: http://www.pitchup.com/campsites/England/East_Anglia/Norfolk/Burnham_Deepdale/deepdale-camping/

The most comprehensive website in the camping and caravanning sector, Pitchup.com was launched in July 2009 and features 5,000 campsites and holiday parks in the UK and Ireland, including many in hard-to-find locations. The website enables users to search using more than 80 search criteria to fine-tune their holiday requirements, and features mapping technology to make getting there simple too. The site also lists accommodation near nine National Parks, hundreds of beaches, 17 World Heritage Sites and the main UK festivals and can view nearby pubs recommended by the Good Pub Guide.
