Ryelands Holiday Park: Glamping in a five-metre bell tent

General

  • Quiet and roomy site on a hill above the village of Kilgetty
  • Overlooking the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
  • Set on 10 acres of mature and well-kept grounds

Spectacular Welsh countryside scenery is viewable from all around Ryelands Holiday Park in south Wales, for it sits high on a hill above the comely town of Kilgetty and overlooks the lush landscape of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Beaches? Scenic Saundersfoot is but a couple of miles away.

Space galore is all around the site: it's set in 10 acres of mature and well-kept grounds in which to lounge, laze or kick a ball about. (A small play area is also to hand for the kids.) The amenities block, cleaned every day, has free hot water to three showers and four sinks, as well as plenty of toilets for both ladies and gents. A big dishwashing sink is at the front of the building.

Supplies and suppers can be picked up at Kilgetty village less than half a mile away, which has takeaways and a fish and chip shop, a pub, a well-stocked supermarket and a post office. Trains and buses are in town too for exploring along the Pembrokeshire coast and further afield.

Beautiful location for staying and for traveling around the local area. We rented a Bell Tent which was equipped with futons and table, everything was clean and comfortable. The firepit is a great add on, so ideal for easy travels and not having to pack much, so stress free.
Jon and Anna the wardens were helpful very welcoming.
Nice hot showers and clean toilet facilities.
    Excellent value for money.
    Will recommend and return visit.

This is an excellent retreat for anyone wanting plenty of space and tranquillity.

Just off the main areas of Saundersfoot and Tenby there is local facilities (supermarket, excellent chippy for instance) that are just a short walk/drive (if you have to) away. Main beaches are just on the doorstep although not walking distance.

Being right in the countryside there are some amazing views of the surrounding area and a footpath towards the rear of the site takes you right out towards Narbeth or toward Amroth - picks up the Miners Walk.

Wardens on site 24/7 very welcoming and friendly with some great local knowledge.

Booking again already for the end of the summer.

Loads of space, no disturbances, clean facilities, fire pits are free to borrow and you can buy a kit with wood and kindling at a very reasonable price. Conveniently placed for Folly Farm in particular (5 mins), but also Tenby and other towns/villages. We met the wardens 'Jon and Anna' who were very friendly without ever intruding, also very helpful as we followed their recommendation for a fantastic meal! No criticisms whatsoever. Lovely place with lots of space to run about without ever feeling like you are disturbing anyone.

We were unlucky to have to share the campsite with a big group of campers who kept us and other campers up with noise until 11/12pm one night. Our tent was also ripped from one of their balls being hit at force into it. Wardens didn't do anything to stop it even with us and others telling them. So however nice our camping trip was, it put a downer on the weekend. With current restrictions, I was surprised to see such a large mixed group at a campsite. Apart from this nothing, was a really nice little campsite.

The sands and sea of handsome seaside town Saundersfoot are a couple of miles away.

Slightly further afield are more family days at Heatherton World of Activities six miles away, and the beaches of Tenby a mile further along the coast.
