  • Small, friendly and quiet Anglesey touring site with Eryri views
  • Newborough Forest 15 minutes’ drive and Rhosneigr 20 minutes
  • Fishing lake on the grass field; pubs and cafés five minutes’ drive
At just a 15-minute hop in the car from the Menai Bridge, Birdworld Leisure is a small, family-friendly and oh-so-peaceful touring site with far-reaching views to the peaks of Eryri National Park peaks over on the mainland. The spacious grass pitches are level, and there’s access to water but no electricity. Modern facilities stand on the edge of the field, including toilets (one with disabled access) and a shower with plenty of hot water. Anglers can make a beeline for the on-site fishing lake or try their luck on the River/Afon Briant, which runs through the neighbouring field. Birdworld Leisure is dog-friendly too, and you can walk any four-legged friends directly from the pitches, through the forest at nearby Newborough or on Llanddwyn Beach. For those of you who are self-catering, the nearest supermarket is in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll (15 minutes’ drive). When you fancy a night off the cooking rota, you have a choice of pubs and cafés within five minutes by car, as well as seafront restaurants in lively Rhosneigr (20 minutes).

What customers say

A peaceful, tidy, and friendly spot with great views and lots of room. Owners are a hit, facilities are spotless, and arrival/departure is flexible. A top recommendation, though a few wanted more showers.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked The view is spectacular, the site is flat, and grass is well kept.

Disliked The facilities are awful tbh. I'm a regular camper and experienced the full range of facilities out there, but I can't believe the previous reviews haven't mentioned how bad the facilities really are. The toilets are old fashioned mobile toilets, the kind you would get on a building site or Christmas market. The one shower is powered by a generator (need to catch the eye of the owner to have it turned on) and was a former building site decontamination cubicle me thinks, with a shower head bolted to a tap - was also cold when I used it. The owner and his mates stay in three caravans in the corner of the site. My mum would describe it as "Heath Robinson" site and I would agree.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Nice little site, quiet, welcoming guy at reception
Toilets and showers basic but spotless and loved how they have a basket in the ladies toilets of things you might have forgotten, saintly towels, tooth brushes. Thought this was a lovely little touch
We would definitely return

Disliked Not so much a dislike, would be great if on site they had more showers. So just a bit poor that there is only one shower room, wouldn’t put me off staying again, I just think it would be great to have more

Liked Very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The site was really nice and clean, the toilets were spotless. The scenery was really beautiful, at nighttime you could watch all the birds flying around the lake and during the day you got to see lovely Mountain views in a whole 360. Very good price as well.
