What customers say

Lovely, peaceful spot with great views & super clean facilities. Owners are a treat! Ideal for walks/bikes, with Barmouth nearby. Some sloped pitches, but excellent value & a truly relaxing break.

Unpowered grass and earth campervan site (small)

Liked Great location, lots of walks straight out of the site, good beaches not far away too. Excellent toilet and shower block, all very clean, and hosts very helpful and responsive.

Disliked The site is on a steep slope with only a couple of level areas, not great for campervans and bit difficult for tents too.

Cau Bach unpowered grass tent site (secluded)

Liked Helpful and friendly owner. Lovely Location, peaceful and quiet site, only busy the one night of D of E groups. Good clean facilities. We paid extra for the secluded pitch and was lovely having our own private corner.

Disliked -Pay by meter showers- having to make sure you have the right change to wash
-When we booked, it stated this was an adults only site and was one of the reasons we chose it over others, but it definitely wasn't! (Does look like this has been removed on pitch up now)
- 2 toilets a stretch when there were 20+ D of E kids plus other users

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Great location, friendly host and other campers.
Good facilities. Nice and clean.
Lovely walk to Barmouth.

Disliked This is advertised as adult only - this is not the case as there were a few children around. Was very disappointing, as specifically booked it because of it being adult only.
Not sure why you would advertise adult only, then just allow kids.

From the manager: Please can someone call me 07973400766
I have stated to customer service that we can not guarantee that there won’t be children on site as I have children myself and we have long standing customers with children , we just don’t want to take new bookings for families through pitch up

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Location, as I camp often. This is a beautiful part of Wales. The site was clean, with good facilities. Nice view ..

Disliked Mostly on a slope, difficult to part motorbike on the ground. But I was pointed to the lowest area that was flat. Needs a bigger sign out on the road .. as I passed it

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Little gem of a camp site, easy to find & can pitch wherever you like.

Disliked It’s on a bit of a slope, but manageable, found a flat enough spot & slept well all 3 nights.

Local attractions

Whether you’re a newbie to the whole walking thing or a seasoned trail veteran, there are walks for all levels locally… and some straight from the site. Perhaps you’ll want to set your sights on Arthog Waterfalls (half an hour’s walk) or go straight for the big gun, Penygader’s mountain trails (under three hours’ walk or 25 minutes’ drive). Those of you who prefer to pedal your way about may want to make headway for the The Mawddach Trail (around half an hour’s walk). This nine-mile traffic-free highway runs down a disused railway line from beachy Barmouth to Dolgellau, where you might want to extend your route along the Precipice Walk (15 minutes’ drive) through meadows, woodlands and a conifer plantation. Your blood may already be pumping from all the activities, but those of you who are after adrenaline practically on tap will want to head on up to Zip World Slate Caverns (50 minutes), where zipwires and trampolines will take things to new heights – not literally, though, as they’re part of an underground cave system.
