Powered grass site

Liked Highly recommend this site. The showers and toilets were very well maintained. The pitch I stayed on (23) was close to shower block. It was flat and spacious. Relaxed and laid back vibe. Bonus Starbucks just up the lane. I chose this site based on it's vicinity to Mach Loop and wasn't disappointed, saw some low flying military aircraft whilst making bacon sandwich! Brilliant!!!!

Disliked There is nothing negative I can say about this site that is within the realms of the hosts. The only consideration is the main road runs quite close to the site. It's very busy in the daytime but relatively quiet at night. Again, absolutely nothing to do with owners.

Power optional grass site

Liked Really easy to deal with (just arrive and go to your pitch). On site washing and toilet facilities were great. Site is nice and compact.

Disliked Would be great if there was a bit more rec space, but if you just want to get the tent up, and chill out it's great!

Powered grass tent site (family, double)

Liked My family stayed at torrent walk campsite from the 7th to the 12th August, as a large family party with 4 small children (3 under 4) we where amazed at the size of the double pitch, it was fab, the kids had so much freedom and space to run around as the pitch was huge!
Highly recommend torrent walk, great site, clean showers and clean toilets. Extremely safe place , the firepit we hired was brilliant and we will definitely be back.

Power optional grass site

Liked Excellent location for exploring!
All information was sent in advance via email & text message!
Pitch was clean, nearly level & a decent size.
We only needed a location to stop in our campervan & didn’t even require EHU.

Power optional grass tent site (two person, small)

Liked The views are beautiful, day or night. We were blessed with a pitch on the slope overlooking the site.
It's a peaceful site, everyone was respectful and the noise stopped at 11pm each night.
There is pavement to walk on to avoid you getting muddy in the wet weather.
The showers are basic but clean and good water pressure.
The site is close to a petrol garage and Starbucks.
The local pubs are beautiful and the food was 10/10.
The site is clean, zero litter and the staff were so helpful.
Reasonable priced!
There's no artificial lighting so bring a torch.

Disliked The only downside is if you get a pitch high up the ground has alot of hard slate which does make getting your pegs into the ground harder work.

Power optional grass site

Liked Views of site and use of campfires was good. Pitch sizes were big too.

Disliked Toilet and shower facilities weren’t the best but did the job. Washing up area quite small especially when crowded.

Local attractions

The mountains and trails of Snowdonia, the beaches of Barmouth and the north Wales coast, and heritage attractions like the Rheilffordd Talyllyn Railway and Harlech Castle are all within about half an hour’s drive of Torrent Walk, and Snowdonia National Park has activities for all sorts including whitewater rafting, horse riding, climbing and wild swimming. For gentle strolls, the National Trust managed Cregennan Lakes are about five miles west of Dolgellau on the slopes of Cadair ldris, and the flat Mawddach Trail between Dolgellau and Barmouth along the Mawddach estuary has hiking and biking paths with cracking views. Cregannan also has two lakes for fly and worm fishing, one for brown trout and the other for brown and blue. Head to the coast for Barmouth and Fairbourne, both uncrowded and with miles of golden sand. Barmouth Harbour, at the mouth of the Mawddach Estuary, is where to bag a boat for sea and fishing trips, while Fairbourne is a big pull for windsurfers and other watersport sorts. If sightseeing both seasides, take the Fairbourne Steam Railway from Fairbourne to Penrhyn Point and then the passenger ferry to Barmouth.
