Family-run The Paddocks Caravan and Camping is a small and ultra-organised site with well-maintained, flat and spacious pitches in north Wales. It’s less than five minutes’ drive to the beach at Criccieth, and around half an hour to the imposing castles at Harlech and Caernarfon, making this a cracking adults-only base from which to explore the Llŷn Peninsula. It's a 10-minute trip by car to the wide, south-facing sands at Pwllheli, a former haunt of smugglers and pirates. You'll find it quite a bit calmer these days, especially if you follow the fab Llŷn Peninsula Coastal Path round the peninsula for views and wildlife and splendid sea air. Sandcastles, paddling and rockpool exploration are all there for the taking. If you’d rather ditch the car, a bus stop is five minutes’ walk away, or you can explore on two legs – perhaps a good place to start is the local village of Llanystumdwy (five minutes’ walk), as it’s the burial place of former Prime Minister David Lloyd George. You can see his grave and visit a small museum, and afterwards stroll down the banks of the scenic River Dwyfor. Gleaming facilities on site include a well-lit shower block with two private bathrooms (each containing a large shower, wash-hand basin and toilet), plus three adjacent toilets and two separate showers (each with a dressing room and one with a hair dryer). Nearby is a covered communal area with a table and seating, plus two washing-up sinks, a fridge-freezer, a separate drinks fridge, a microwave, toaster and a kettle. There's also a phone-charging point. Firepits and barbecues are allowed, but they must be raised off the ground and set up on one of the concrete slabs provided. Small chimineas and barbecues are available for nightly hire on site, and you can buy logs and charcoal here too. Please note that parties are not permitted – this is a quiet site.

  • Reception is unmanned after 8 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.

  • The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dog Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Vehicles

  • Units longer than 9.1 metres are not allowed.
  • The maximum gazebo size allowed is 3m x 3m.

Powered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Great WiFi coverage - was there while the Athletics European Championships were on and was able to stream the highlights with no problem. Also the power on the shower was good

Good communal area

Disliked Two of the showers / toilets are Porto cabins and not great for washing

It was only when leaving I discovered the showers near the communal area were much better layouts with washroom facilities

Definitely would come back to this site for a third stay.

Liked Very well maintained site. All the amenities you need.
New addition portable shower are good

Disliked Not the sites fault at all, but finding other people's beard shavings all over the sink and wall was a bit off putting.

Liked Good facilities, great showers, everything was very clean.

Disliked Neighbours dog barking a lot, smoke from wildfires. Not the fault of the campsite obviously.

Unpowered grass campervan site

Liked Lovely clean site with spacious pitches and a fabulous kitchen with microwave, kettle and toaster. Excellent showers/toilets. Nice and quiet. Not far from bus stop to Criccieth/Porthmadog and Pwllheli.

Liked Friendly and very helpful staff. The amazing facilities which we didn't expect ; kitchen area with microwave, kettle , toaster. Incredibly, 2 large fridges for customers use. Local good produce to buy at a reasonable price.
Not to mention the very quiet, adults only site, with large pitches, close electric and water mains hook up. The bathroom facilities were brilliant, large designated areas, regularly cleaned to a high standard . Very impressed

Liked Absolutely everything !!!! I think I can honestly say that this is the best site we have ever stayed at! It feels really 'comfortable'. You will be made to feel so welcome. We were only staying for 1 night and stayed 3!
Have you ever stayed at a site where the owner provides you with ice?? And when Juliet couldn't keep up with demand due to hot weather she went out and bought ice for guests.
There are 2 bathrooms with big walk in shower, toilet and washbasin. These are located at the back of the large communal area. I heard one guest say ''They are better than we have at home''. Also other toilets and showers. Don't be put off by the portacabins - they are spotless and large and completely private.
The pitches are huge and everything is well maintained. Lee - the owner, mows the pitches every time someone leaves.
it took us about an hour to walk into Criccieth along the coastal path - Juliet or Lee can tell yo the directions - we came back on the bus which took 5 minutes! £1.80 each - no charge for dogs.
So- ask me the all important question -''would you come back?''. Yes, of course we would!
