Family-run The Paddocks Caravan and Camping is a small and ultra-organised site with well-maintained, flat and spacious pitches in north Wales. It’s less than five minutes’ drive to the beach at Criccieth, and around half an hour to the imposing castles at Harlech and Caernarfon, making this a cracking adults-only base from which to explore the Llŷn Peninsula. It's a 10-minute trip by car to the wide, south-facing sands at Pwllheli, a former haunt of smugglers and pirates. You'll find it quite a bit calmer these days, especially if you follow the fab Llŷn Peninsula Coastal Path round the peninsula for views and wildlife and splendid sea air. Sandcastles, paddling and rockpool exploration are all there for the taking. If you’d rather ditch the car, a bus stop is five minutes’ walk away, or you can explore on two legs – perhaps a good place to start is the local village of Llanystumdwy (five minutes’ walk), as it’s the burial place of former Prime Minister David Lloyd George. You can see his grave and visit a small museum, and afterwards stroll down the banks of the scenic River Dwyfor. Gleaming facilities on site include a well-lit shower block with two private bathrooms (each containing a large shower, wash-hand basin and toilet), plus three adjacent toilets and two separate showers (each with a dressing room and one with a hair dryer). Nearby is a covered communal area with a table and seating, plus two washing-up sinks, a fridge-freezer, a separate drinks fridge, a microwave, toaster and a kettle. There's also a phone-charging point. Firepits and barbecues are allowed, but they must be raised off the ground and set up on one of the concrete slabs provided. Small chimineas and barbecues are available for nightly hire on site, and you can buy logs and charcoal here too. Please note that parties are not permitted – this is a quiet site.

  • Reception is unmanned after 8 p.m.. Please inform the park while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.

Dogs

  • The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Vehicles

  • Units longer than 9.1 metres are not allowed.
  • The maximum gazebo size allowed is 3m x 3m.

Liked Superb! Pitches spacious and well spaced. Nice, quiet site with great facilities. Showers, toilets and shared areas spotlessly clean at all times. 100% recommend for a lovely stay in a beautiful part of the country.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Excellent campsite. Beautifully kept and maintained. Shower rooms are like a bathroom at home. Nice and quiet. Good washing up area with microwave, fridges, eggs for sale. Friendly owners. Spacious pitches.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Beautiful, well kept site with spacious clearly marked pitches and friendly helpful hosts.
Good quality, practical clean showers and toilets.
Lovely washing up area with useful practical items available should you forget your own.
Tea/coffee/eggs for sale if required and leaflets & local information to read.
I loved the communal open barn area where the sinks and information were kept, with the large picnic table in the middle.
You've thought of and actioned everything for a great site.

Liked Juliette and Leigh have really created a wee gem here. Facilities are excellent and exceptionally well kept. Everything you could need is right there. Lovely quiet site, just big enough that you have your own space and small enough that it's quiet and never felt busy. So peaceful. Great base for exploring the surrounding areas. Hosts were an absolute pleasure also.

Liked We loved the hosts - absolutely brilliant, Leigh is great to have a joke with and Juliette is lovely.

Site is beautiful and quiet, lovely sounds of "air show" planes and jets occasionally, electricity and water on pitch, spotless toilets and showers.

Fresh farm eggs and milk with an honesty box, toaster and microwave available for use.

Really helpful when we changed our tent to a small caravan, helped with local places to take our infatable kayak - including The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - just beautiful 😍

Disliked Couldn't fault anything at all!

Liked Space of the pitches, cleanliness of the site and site facilities. Small site which meant it was very peaceful.
Adult only and dog friendly perfect for us.
Also liked the honesty box system for eggs and a few essentials if you were stuck.

Disliked Need to have a second means of transport due to location. Appreciate that there is public transport but for convenience we brought our car as well as the campervan. This worked well for us. Not really a huge dislike as we knew before we travelled.

Liked Clean toilets and showers never had to wait for one to become free. Decent sized pitches campsite quite. Toaster etc available for all to use even supplied washing up liquid

Disliked Only annoyance was the BBQ someone decided to light behind us in the non electric area. Bbq smoke headed straight for our tent. We where unfortunately not there in the day and unfortunately had the air vents open..

Liked The best site we have ever stayed on. Spotless. Everything you could wish for . Relaxing. Very nice places nearby. We have been spoilt now for visiting anywhere else. The owners friendly welcoming. They have gone above and behond we this site. We wish it was nearer to Yorkshire.
