Family-run The Paddocks Caravan and Camping is a small and ultra-organised site with well-maintained, flat and spacious pitches in north Wales. It’s less than five minutes’ drive to the beach at Criccieth, and around half an hour to the imposing castles at Harlech and Caernarfon, making this a cracking adults-only base from which to explore the Llŷn Peninsula. It's a 10-minute trip by car to the wide, south-facing sands at Pwllheli, a former haunt of smugglers and pirates. You'll find it quite a bit calmer these days, especially if you follow the fab Llŷn Peninsula Coastal Path round the peninsula for views and wildlife and splendid sea air. Sandcastles, paddling and rockpool exploration are all there for the taking. If you’d rather ditch the car, a bus stop is five minutes’ walk away, or you can explore on two legs – perhaps a good place to start is the local village of Llanystumdwy (five minutes’ walk), as it’s the burial place of former Prime Minister David Lloyd George. You can see his grave and visit a small museum, and afterwards stroll down the banks of the scenic River Dwyfor. Gleaming facilities on site include a well-lit shower block with two private bathrooms (each containing a large shower, wash-hand basin and toilet), plus three adjacent toilets and two separate showers (each with a dressing room and one with a hair dryer). Nearby is a covered communal area with a table and seating, plus two washing-up sinks, a fridge-freezer, a separate drinks fridge, a microwave, toaster and a kettle. There's also a phone-charging point. Firepits and barbecues are allowed, but they must be raised off the ground and set up on one of the concrete slabs provided. Small chimineas and barbecues are available for nightly hire on site, and you can buy logs and charcoal here too. Please note that parties are not permitted – this is a quiet site.

  • Group bookings of 5 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).
  • Single-sex bookings of 5 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.
  • Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
  • Reception is unmanned after 8 p.m.. Please inform the park while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.
  • A cable measuring at least 15 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Units longer than 9.1 metres are not allowed.
  • If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.
  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
  • The maximum gazebo size allowed is 3m x 3m.

Disliked Disliked nothing about the park or the location which is only 2 miles from Criccieth, however difficult hill walk back to site from the close village for any one with mobility issues who would like to use public transport.

Liked Another fabulous stay , Juliette and Leigh are so friendly and they made us feel so welcomed,this time we were non electric and found it great as we had all the facilities we needed in the barn ie microwave, toaster and a table to eat from etc, which enabled us to chat to a lot of other campers which was nice .

Liked Owners of the site were lovely. Excellent facilities, clean and modern toilets and showers. Fridges and freezers available. Spacious, flat pitches. Honesty box for tea and coffee making facilities.
Never has WiFi on a campsite before, but then haven't camped for a few years.

Liked Everything. Showers/toilets spotless. Campsite spotless, quiet, plenty space between plots. Hosts were welcoming, friendly, always available and happy to help with anything, nothing was to much trouble.
Well equipped undercover kitchen area with microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer. Milk, eggs, tea, coffee, hot chocolate available for a small fee.

Liked Great site, quiet with large pitches, owners are lovely and have thought of everything, great facilities, all spotlessly clean, everything you need is provided and really clear instructions provided on campsite use and etiquette. Location is great, we did a great walk, a beach day and a lovely run. Found lots of good food and coffee in the nearby town. Will definitely be coming back next year!
