Liked I stayed for 2 nights with my 2 young children and 2 dogs. I couldn’t get my tent pegs in the ground or work out my guide ropes, and the site guys couldn’t have helped me faster! He went and got heavy duty tent pegs and then later on, rescued me when my electric extension wouldn’t reach my tent!
The next morning, both guys came to check we’d all made it through the night! Just the nicest place, they can’t do enough to help you.
The bathrooms are so nice they have boiled sweets in jars and flowers. I felt completely safe at all times and the facilities were amazing.
It’s extremely dog friendly and the dog run was fabulous! We will definitely be back.

Disliked Only thing I could say is that it’s basically all caravans and I think lots are long term residents so my tent felt a little out of place amongst them all, and headlights from cars going to work early were bright. But honestly it was worth it for the lovely campsite.

From the manager: I have just read your review and saddened to hear that Newton Brook was one of the saddest camping`s you have been on. I can only apologies for the site not suitable for your one night stay. I would be interested to know why you felt this way, to enable us to correct any issues for further improvement.

Local attractions

If you’re planning on sticking around in Somerset for a while, you’re in pole position here for days out exploring by car. Head to north-coast beaches like Berrow (half an hour’s drive) and Burnham-on-Sea (20 minutes) for some family fun splashing in the shallows, or turn south and treat the kids to a day out on the rollercoasters and 4D rides at Crealy Theme Park and Resort (50 minutes). Rather explore on foot? There's plenty of choice for walkers around here, with the gorgeous Quantock Hills (15 minutes) or Blackdown Hills Areas of Outstanding Nature Beauty (40 minutes) riddled with hiking trails. Travel a little further and you can discover the walking routes of wild Exmoor, as well as historic spots like Tarr Steps clapper bridge (an hour) and the pretty town of Dulverton (50 minutes). Other places you might like to consider exploring are Wells (45 minutes), with its spectacular cathedral and castle, or funky little Glastonbury (40 minutes), awash with hippy shops and cute little cafés.
