  • Beautiful family run campsite on the Hampshire Dorset border.
Riverside Lakes is a family run campsite in Horton, 10 minutes off of the A31. We bought the site nearly 4 years ago with our young family, and they all get to work and help out onsite. We have around 75 pitches, and 5 glamping tents that welcome dogs. we do allow campfires with braziers on each pitch free of charge, and we ask for wood to be bought from us as this doesn't smoke. we do have a noise curfew, so at 11pm we ask for no noise. sitting quietly around the camp fire is fine. we have lovely walks to our local pub - The old Inn @ Holt. and also newly opened is Drusilla's inn, which is even closer. We allow caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents, camper vans, and large tents. We have 16 electric hook up points over the site, which you will see on the map with an lightbulb. Our Skys at night are completely unspoilt, meaning the star gazing is a must when you stay here. We have wood fired pizzas onsite on particular nights, usually a Saturday, and you can preorder on check in. We also have takeaways that deliver to site also. we have a small onsite shop, with camping essentials, ice creams and few little souvenirs from your stay. For all those fisherman, or campers that want a little go with a rod, we allow fishing onsite in both our first lakes. the second being our specimen lake. this is completely fenced, meaning safe for the children too. we have carp at nearly 30lb in this lake, and lots more littler carp in the smaller lake, along side other course fish. unhooking Mats and weigh slings and nets are provided by us free of charge. We have a small holding onsite with our friendly pigs, alpacas, chickens, goats. we sell food in the shop for these to be fed. We do have piglets every year too, which is a real attraction for the children. We also do pottery painting onsite, and glaze fire onsite too. this is a great thing for the kids, if it's raining. we are also expanding things to do more with the kids each year to make their stay unforgettable, while adults can sit back relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. we have a no vehicle policy on sit which means you can deliver stuff to the pitch and pack away again, but the cars stay in the car park, so that its safe for the children to roam quite freely.

Route directions

If coming from A31 this is an easy straight forward way to get to us, you come through Ashley heath, then across the roundabouts at 3 legged cross, then straight on, we are 2 miles down on the right. If coming from the Horton Inn way with a tourer or motor home, you may want to go past our turning and find a safe space to turn around, as the turning to the left is at an angle and can be tricky.
