Early morning at brewery farm
Peaceful location.
Roomy hardstanding pitches

  • Quiet farm site surrounded by footpaths in the Dorset village of Ansty
  • Half an hour's drive from Weymouth, Poole and the Jurassic Coast
  • Farm shop on site; pub with food next door
They might not make beer at Brewery Farm, but this fab Dorset site serves up good times in grand surrounds, and there's a pub right next door for good measure… If you’re into history, there’s lots of it to be supped and savoured in the area; same goes for walks, beaches, boat rides… the whole lot of it easily accessible from a berth on this peaceful and friendly site. Facilities include a shop, selling the farm’s own produce; if you want to grill up an alfresco feast, go ahead – barbecues are permitted. The suitably ancient and rural inn over the road serves fresh locally sourced food as well, along with local ales to relax with at the end of a day of outings. Fancy exploring the area slowly? Ask the team to point you towards the network of country footpaths, through some of Dorset’s finest countryside.

Liked: Excellent communication from the site before we arrived.
A small, clean and well maintained site.
Shower block with actual hot water and heating. Washing up facilities were immaculate and there was even a freezer if you needed it!
Quiet and in beautiful surroundings.
Farm shop on site, selling literally everything you may need.
Bonus of having very good WIFI that is free of charge.
Pub across the road.
Perfect for those wanting to get away from the fast pace of life.
Definitely one of my favourite sites, we will be booking again for next yr.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Wow, what a stunning place to stay. A very warm welcome, we had a pitch at the top of the field. Which was a very level pitch with an amazing view of the countryside & was lovely to wake up to the sounds of the birds & the farm animals. Loved the pigs ❤️....Amazingly large & clean toilets & showers. The shop is huge & has all you need & more. We only live a few miles away so I willbe visiting the shop again.

Disliked: No lighting to light your way back to the field from the pub, so make sure you have a torch with you & dont drink to much 🤣👍.
The pub food is not that great.

From the manager: Thankyou for taking the time to write these lovely words and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and in particular the pigs. I am sorry that the late night walk from the Pub this time of year is dark but being so rural we do not want to keep the local neighbours awake all night, so I hope you understand. We hope to see you visiting us again in the near future.

Great site - would recommend.

Liked: Lovely setting with some great countryside walks. Lovely setup, not all on top of one another. Big shower rooms and lovely little shop with everything you needed. Beautiful pub with great food, catered for my dietary needs. (Coeliac)

Disliked: Some of the campers didn’t adhere to the signs in the shower block asking them to mop after they had showered which meant that they were a bit dirty when I went in one morning but that’s not a fault of the campsite owners at all, people just don’t always think of others unfortunately.

From the manager: Thankyou for taking the time to write this generous review of our site and I am very pleased to hear you enjoyed the neighbouring Pub. I am sorry that another camper resulted in the shower facility not being as immaculate as we aim for, we do try and get them cleaned every morning but as you stated, someone always lets the side down. Despite this we would love to see you return.

Liked: Quite possibly the best site we’ve ever stayed at.

The pub was delicious. The shop had everything you needed and very reasonably priced.

The pitches were a great size. Toilets were clean.

The piggies were cute

We purchased a fire pit for the week. We’ve loved sitting by the fire in the evenings doing s’mores and sausages.

I got a little book in the shop for local walk this was very informative and we had a great walk up to a huge cross on the hills

Will definitely be back

Liked: Absolutely loved everything about Brewery farm. Had a nice welcome on arrival with everything explained to me. There is a very well stocked shop on site providing absolutely everything you could possibly need, the shower and toilets were super immaculate, very clean and pleasant to use. Overall a lovely site set in a very peaceful tranquil location in the middle of nowhere. The place has amazing views with great walks and countryside. There is nothing not to like about Brewery farm. It’s amazing. The pub across the road was also fantastic. The food and staff were first class and we were made to feel very welcome. I would highly recommend visiting. We only wish we could have stayed longer and can’t wait to go back.

Disliked: Reading other peoples unnecessary negative comments.

There was absolutely nothing I disliked.

Liked: We had a lovely welcome when we arrived. The site was very small and quiet, and if you don’t mind a bit of farming noise (it is a farm), very peaceful. Very little road noise. The shop on site is actually the village shop so it had everything you could need and the pub across the road was great (dogs welcome).
We bought a little book of walks from the campsite owner which was great to get us started. We took on the 6.5 mile walk but ended up doing closer to 8 miles as some of the directions could benefit from a little more clarity.
Booked 4 nights but would have stayed for longer if the wind and rain hadn’t set in.

Disliked: Not a dislike but just a note that the water in the shower can get extremely hot so may not suit small children.
The toilets occasionally ran out of loo roll but you can hardly expect this to be constantly checked. The only thing I would change is the blue roll for hand drying as it’s very thin and disintegrates mid use.

From the manager: Thankyou for taking the time to write this lovely review, and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. I am sorry that you found the shower water hot, I had a couple compliment us only yesterday for the temperature of the showers so I'll apologise as we cannot suit everyone's likings but I will ensure its suitable for children. We hope you wish to stay again with us in the future.

Local attractions

If beaches are your bag, you’ve hit the big time here as the Jurassic Coast is studded not just with fossils but also sandy coves and rocky inlets: Lulworth Cove is a 40-minute drive away, and if you fancy something wilder, Winspit beach is accessible only by a footpath from Worth Matravers (45 minutes). Another fine way to explore the coast is to make for Weymouth or Poole, both half an hour away, for a boat cruise. Both towns are crammed with further family-friendly attractions including funfairs and an aquarium in Weymouth, and slides and chutes and waterfalls at Poole’s Splashdown waterpark. Monkey World and the Tank Museum are also around half an hour away. For an easy way to see the chalk hills and valleys of inland Dorset, take a seat on the Swanage Railway (50 minutes) for steam rides between the coast and Corfe Castle (40 minutes by car). The castle is well worth clambering over; if anyone’s missing the water, make for the nearby Dorset Waterpark for floating inflatable obstacle courses in a wooded lakeland setting. For another day out with a difference, the graceful residents of Abbotsbury Swannery (45 minutes) were once kept by local monks for the purposes of scoffing at banquets. You can now visit the country's only nesting colony of mute swans and feed them, as well as get lost in the maze, hurtle about the adventure playground and roam the nearby subtropical gardens.
