  • Superbly located Surrey campsite with easy motorway access
  • Thorpe Park, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor within 30 mins' drive
  • On the banks of the River Thames, with Thames Path access
What a handy camping spot this is… Laleham Camping Club has easy access to the M3 and M25 motorways, it’s close to Heathrow airport and Staines railway station is only about 10 minutes’ drive away for easy jaunts to the capital. On top of all that, there are all sorts of attractions within easy reach, including Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor. And if that all sounds a bit exhausting, it’s good to know that the location within London’s protected Green Belt means you’ll have peaceful surroundings for relaxing on site. The River Thames runs alongside, giving you access to the Thames Path for walks and bike rides, or to the water for kayaking, paddleboarding and swims. The nearest major urban centre is Staines, accessible by car, bus or a walk along the riverbank and with a good collection of shops and restaurants, plus a cinema. Closer to home, Laleham village is 10 minutes’ stroll away, and has a convenience store and a choice of three pubs. The folk that run this Surrey site haven’t just relied on their location, though – they’ve made sure the place is a comfortable place to stay, with a good number of facilities including a launderette, free hot showers and handy extras including hairdryers and shaver points. Chillout time is well spent here too – there’s a small play park with sandpit in the centre of the site, and a wet-weather room with Sky TV, a pool table, table tennis and a dartboard. Next door in Laleham Park there’s an outdoor gym, a bigger play park and plenty of space to play games or walk dogs.

What customers say

Great riverside spot with helpful staff and a family vibe. Clean facilities, good pitches, easy access to Thorpe Park and London. Heathrow planes are a bit noisy, but manageable. Showers could be modernised, but most loved it and want to come back.

Liked Very clean site, excellent location. Huge pitch. Friendly, helpful staff. Not too noisy, unless you don’t like aircraft noise, its stops overnight though. Pub you can walk to, good place across the road to open water swim. Take a tow float though so as the boats can see you !

Liked Great location next to the river, decent sized pitches and pleasant staff. Great to have a laundry/ washing room on site too

Power optional grass site

Liked It was friendly and laid back and remarkably quiet for the area it was in. Nice location by the Thames. Close to Thorpe Park and seemed a nice neighbourhood. Path along the Thames both directions and swimming spot in Thames just outside the gate.
There was a football field in the middle and a little kids playground - was a great site for families with younger children.

Disliked I'm a little confused still as booked an "electric optional grass pitch" but there was not electric hookup available for us. Luckily not too much of a problem but I was hoping to try out my electric hookup as haven't yet.
We were put in the middle of the field with no shade. It was very hot! Suggest check you're getting a pitch with some trees round the edge. I booked ages ago but I suppose you just get what's free on the day maybe.
The toilets and showers were cleaned once a day - it's quite a busy site so they were pretty dirty at times- twice daily cleaning in busy times would be better. Only 3 showers in the ladies for a big site, but I heard they were going to upgrade so hopefully this will improve.
Please note the gates shut at 8pm so you can't go out by vehicle after that time - was fine for us we walked to the pub for dinner but in case you were planning to drive somewhere in the evening it wouldn't be possible.
