What customers say

Brilliant spot, peaceful countryside, friendly staff (especially Guy!) and good pitches. Enjoy the quiet, farm animals & views. Facilities are fine, but one shower/toilet can be busy. Great for a relaxing break, lots want to return.

Powered grass caravan site (family)

Liked Lovely and peacefull campsite with family field and adult only field. We were in the family only field on electic hook up and had a lovely level pitch near the hook up with plenty of room.

Neighbouring cows were a great entertainment for everyone throughout the day.

Facilities were humble with 2 electic shows and 2 toilets with a 3rd of each in a separate block. Initially were were nervous of queues but this was never an issue for us. There were 2 dish washing sinks and always had ample hot water for showers and dishes.

The site elt secure, relaxed and the staff were friendly. There is evidence of the facilities being epanded which will make for an amazing stay in the future.

Disliked Couldn't fault it. Phone signal was sporadic at times but quite refreshing to not have it

Liked As soon as we arrived we were met with a warm welcome by Gary who showed us to our pitch and where the amenities were. The field was well managed, the views were lovely and even had friendly cows that we could pet.
The weather was sunny, it was wonderfully quiet and there were only a few other families who we shared a large area with so we really felt the luxury of having space.
Norman and his wife Ruth came to see us to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves and to share what life is like for them.
It’s a working farm so this needs to be taken into consideration, just to be aware that there are limits on access as it’s not a playground.
The facilities were clean, in good working order and no waiting for showers or washing up etc.
All together we had a very relaxed and peaceful weekend which was a real tonic for our family. Thank you

From the manager: If you read my reply to various reviews, i expect nothing less than 10 out of 10.
Naturally I was disappointed to get 8 out of 10.
You must realise this has an effect on our overall ratings.
I am especially annoyed as you were a retired couple who's motorhome had broken down and you called the AA.
It was 4pm and they weren't due to arrive till gone 9pm.
I took a look and found out it was a problem with the immobiliser. We got your van running allowing you to continue your stay.
You mentioned you had limited provisions. I went back to Roundoak and got you milk, bread, some burgers etc.
It would have been better for you to not have made a review.
I really went out of my way to help you!!!!!
How cowardly to sign the review anonymous I found it offensive. I know exactly who you were, parked on the left of the entrance to the camping field.
I would rather you did not come back

Liked Very peaceful farm. Woke up with the Highland cows and chickens each morning which was lovely. Brand new clean showers and toilets. Very helpful family that lived on the farm to solve any questions you have. Love the fact that all their animals are rare breeds and the conservation project they have going on. Would definitely stay here again.

Disliked Be aware that some of the lanes leading to the site are quite narrow but not a major issue.

Local attractions

Castles and gardens first, as Kent is of course famed throughout the land for both: spectacular Leeds Castle is three miles from the farm; Sissinghurst Castle Garden (one of the best known in England) 11 miles away, and 14th-century Penshurst Place is within 25 miles near Tonbridge. Bedgebury National Pinetum is about 35 minutes' drive away. Vineyards? Find English wine six miles away at Staplehurst, and slightly further afield at Biddenden (eight miles) and Tenterden (13 miles). Kent has over 50 vineyards and a similar soil to the Champagne region of France, so whatever flavour of vino you favour, you'll likely find a bottle to uncork around here. Options within a 45-minute drive include the maritime museum of Chatham Historic Dockyard, the cathedral city of Canterbury, and the Kent & East Sussex Railway, from Tenterden to Bodiam Castle 10 and a half miles away. Prefer to stick closer to him? Perhaps play a round at the golf course next door to the farm. If you do like to be beside the seaside, sands and waters are at Swale, Sheerness, Dymchurch and Whitstable, all around 30-40 minutes' drive away; do stop off at the last to sample some famed Whitstable oysters (if you're around in summer, the Whitstable Oyster Festival is held over a weekend every July).
