What customers say
Great views of Ullswater, friendly owner Sophie. Spacious pitches with a 'wild camping' feel. Good base for exploring, short walk to a pub. Basic loos. Some mud/noise, but good value, back-to-basics camping overall.

located at my favourite lake in UK this Campsite was the ideal place
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked With amazing views at easy to find location for our first time family camping trip.
This was the ideal place to pitch up With plenty of space for the kids to play supper dog friendly & alongside the amazing owners who were very frendly & helpfull, Provided us with excellent clean tidy toilet facilities & fresh kindle with fire pit.
Along side rescuing our eldest dolly kite, Thank you for our home away from home would highly recommend & will be definitely returning as kids & our self's loved it.
Disliked Nothing to dislike was excellent all round

Lovely site with incredible views, lovely staff and basic facilities
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Very friendly staff, incredible views, not too busy/overcrowded, one of few campsites who allow campfires + were able to buy more fire wood when we ran out
Disliked Entrance to site is quite steep and one car struggled to get in and out, still manageable though.

really enjoyed stay excellent location let down by late noise
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked The view was fantastic
Sophie the girl who greeted us was brilliant
Being able to arrive and leave at our leisure
Very close the lake so perfect for a short drive
Pub nearby
Disliked Would be so much better if drinking water was available.
We were kept up both nights by drunken groups until 2am.
Not the end of the world, I suppose this is the trade for relaxed arrival and departure etc …
We were a group and mixed adults and children, and whilst we’re not expecting to be quiet by 10pm.
I think midnight is a reasonable ask.

Great campsite. Great host. Great atmosphere. Would recommend 10/10
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked -lovely host- Sophie was laid back, friendly & extremely helpful.
-lovely big field. Even during the summer holidays; still huge, huge spaces between tents.
-great views
-great for families/groups. It’s a noisy campsite- but I prefer that over campsites where everyone has to be in bed by 10pm! It has a great atmosphere. One of the campers had a projector on his van, and everyone on site was welcome to bring up a chair & watch some films.
- it’s the sort of campsite where the kids all make friends & run around together with a football. Where there is groups of friends laughing around campfires.
We enjoyed it so much, we stayed for an extra night.
Disliked There’s nothing I can fault. It’s not luxurious, but that’s part of the charm.
