Chasing a bit of West Yorkshire peace and quiet, but still wanting lots to do? Riverside Glamping and Caravan Park is a clever spot to consider, as it’s in a peaceful hillside spot on the edge of Ripponden, yet still near sports fields, walking routes and cycling trails – and Leeds and Manchester are both under an hour’s drive away if you’re craving some big-city action (or looking for a quick escape from such). Tucked among the woodland and meadows, well-maintained modern facilities at the site include a communal shower block, washing-up facilities and waste disposal. You can also deal with any dirty clothes at the launderette (five minutes’ walk). Chores sorted, there's all sorts of stuff to do right next door. Play tennis and bowls, and give kids the chance to kick a ball around Mill Fold Park and Playground or watch them practise their moves at the skatepark. Ripponden (five minutes’ walk) is the springboard to walking and mountain-biking routes, and there’s coarse and fly fishing on the River Ryburn for anglers. The village is also well endowed with local supermarkets, a farm shop and a choice of Indian takeaways, pizzerias and homely pubs. Dogs are very welcome at Riverside, by the way, but please clean up after them. This is a quiet site, so you'll also be asked to keep noise levels to a minimum after 10pm.

Liked Handy for the town, squirrels, clean but simple bathroom facilities, easy to park up and connect, easy to book.

Disliked Not great value. grass not well maintained ( wet feet), not obvious where to park as no obvious site manager,.

Fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Location. Close to Ripponden village that has several pubs/eateries and a co-op store.
Next to river with Riverside walks.
Two shower toilet units that were always clean.
Easy site to find.
Pitch number put on booking confirmation so was able to go straight to pitch.

Disliked No one came to meet us which is a shame.
Charge of £2.50 for dogs but nothing to show for this extra cost.
Site could benefit from a bit of tidying up here and there.

Recommend to friends Visit again

Solo female met up with others. Will stay here again. Loved it.

Liked Great little campsite. Very laid back. Everything worked well. Shower room/loo was nice and big and clean. Lovely location. Not too noisy.

Disliked I’m a very light sleeper so could hear the traffic, though the others in my party were fine.
First shower was perfect! Next day in other shower room the water was cold (poss bcos there was someone also in the shower in the other room?)

Camping pod (adults only)

Liked The pod was very clean with excellent beds. Very clean toilet/shower block. We loved the location of the campsite and the location of our pod - number 4 -tucked away from the others with a good view.

Disliked As stated in confirmation email it said to ring number upon arrival. Upon arrival I parked next to another gentleman who said he’d been ringing the numbers but to no avail. Me and my son then spent quite some time sat in car ringing both numbers to check in and find out where to pitch and no one answered either phone calls to either number stated. After a long drive, very heavy rain and pain from injury it was very frustrating. We ended up booking a hotel and going elsewhere - unfortunately losing camping money and paying extra for hotel. Very frustrating and disappointing.
