  • Peaceful Northumberland site close to beaches and coast walks
  • A five-minute drive from Bamburgh and Seahouses
  • On the coast near Seahouses; small shared kitchen on site
There are magical coastal and country views all over Springhill Farm Holiday Accommodation, a family- and dog-friendly site in peaceful countryside five minutes’ drive from Seahouses. The property has glimpses of the Farne Islands offshore, Bamburgh Castle to the north and the Cheviot Hills in the west. The well-maintained pitches are surrounded by landscaped greenery and have access to a lovely play area for kids. Spotless modern amenities include shared toilets and shower trailers, a family bathroom with baby-changing facilities, and one with disabled access. There’s also a washing-up area, laundry room, wifi and chemical and grey waste disposal. Despite the quiet rural setting of this site, there are shops, pubs and restaurants in Seahouses, as well as restaurants and cafés in gorgeous Bamburgh (both five minutes' drive). Locally there are several of the UK’s most spectacular beaches, happily dog-friendly all year around – but you don’t have to go that far to exercise your dogs, as there’s a dedicated dog-walking area on site.

The Meadow unpowered grass site

Liked Perfect for what we needed for 1 night stay. The view was beautiful.
No checking in, just go find a place to pitch. Plenty of space. Easy to read map to locate toilets etc. On site shop was handy. Great washing up area, fridge, freezer, mircowave and toaster.

Disliked Found dog poo where we pitched. Pick up after your dogs people!!!
The toilets were not manned enough and in a right state by 9am in the morning with paper and liquids everywhere. In evening they did not flush. The bins by the meadow where massively overflowing when we arrived. We had to walk rubbish down to the caravan bins. They were emptied the next day but rubbish was everywhere in that area. Hubby said showers were cold... i didnt bother!
Unsupervised kids in park area had put woodchip and water all over the slide!

Powered concrete slab caravan site

Liked Location .. lovely cycle rides to Seahouses and Bamburgh.

Disliked We were on pitch 22 which was fully under trees and thus in the shade when we arrived so we asked if we could move but receptionist said ‘the site was full’ however over the 3 days there were pitches that were empty. We thus stayed on the allocated pitch and set up our table and chairs and next morning woke to them being covered in bird poo ( could have done with a disclaimer) We spoke to receptionist again re recommended cycle paths and she quickly verbally signposted us when we spoke to gain clarification describing the roads we travelled in she stated ‘I wouldn’t know that as I didn’t have a tracker on you’ on both occasions (and the last) of going to reception we found her to be dismissive and rude

This was our last camping trip of the year and by far the best! Can’t wait to book up for next year.

Liked Showers are hot and no timer button. Toilets/showers seem new and clean for the hard standing pitches. Hairdryers provided.
Location is excellent, within walking distance to Bamburgh and Seahouses.

Disliked My pitch (16) was probably the worst on the large site.
Be aware that the pitches on this side are next to the busy working farm and are pretty noisy. I get that it’s a farm but there was a lot of machinery noise and from early in the morning. Maybe the time of year didn’t help (August) but there were also children riding up and down on quads. Not quiet!!
Also no sun at all over 5 days which is pretty poor when everyone else is sat out enjoying lovely weather. These pitches are expensive and should not be the same price as others on the site. I asked to be moved but was told it was full and it wasn’t possible.
Okay for a quick one nighter but they shouldn’t put a long stay on there… and there were a lot of 1/2 night stays across the whole site. They could have easily re-arranged.
Disappointing.

Liked Flat large pitch, good bathrooms although queued for loo in main block on occasion, hot water, great location.

Disliked Definitely some pitches better than others … I had some sun others shady all day and had farm noise … yes it’s a working farm but some was young farm kids on quads
Pity that for some reason site says cannot see that I had requested to be near a friend when we booked many weeks ago … never experienced sites having issues with this before. Expensive .

Local attractions

With miles of sand stretching down the coastline and backed by dunes, Bamburgh beach (five minutes’ drive) is rarely crowded; it lends itself to walking, beachcombing and swimming on warmer days. Spending a day there is made even more splendid by its stunning views of Bamburgh Castle, which is open for (pre-booked) tours of its well-preserved interiors, chapel and windmill. Hot competition for ‘best castle in Northumberland’ comes from Alnwick Castle (25 minutes), with its grand architecture, Harry Potter-related exhibitions and family-friendly activities such as the adventure playground and poison garden. Offshore, you can visit two famed Northumberland landmarks. The Farne Islands are a world-renowned wildlife sanctuary; catch the regular boat service from Seahouses (five minutes) between Easter and October for close-up views of seabirds and one of the UK’s largest grey seal colonies. Accessible via a tidal causeway (25 minutes, be sure to check tide times before you go), Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is steeped in history; once there, you can explore Lindisfarne Castle and its Lutyens-designed interior, the 12th-century priory and several peaceful beaches.
