Willowbeck Farm: Entrance to the site

General

  • Spacious dog-friendly site with spectacular views over the Pennine Way
  • Within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland
  • Local pubs five minutes' drive away

Thinking of visiting the Yorkshire Dales National Park? Or maybe the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? How about both?

Willowbeck Farm, on the edge of the little North Yorkshire village of Wigglesworth, is neatly located between the two, putting guests within easy reach of lots of scenic areas for walks, bike trails and horse riding. (Need tips on the top spots? Try the spectacular surrounds of Malham Cove or the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, both around half an hour’s drive away).

Town attractions and amenities are handily nearby too: you’re five miles from the market town of Settle (where there’s also a supermarket if you don’t happen to be passing by on a market day) and around a half-hour drive from Skipton and Clitheroe for castle visits and plenty of independent shops to poke around in.

Back at base, you’ll be staying on a small, quiet and well-maintained adults-only site with smart toilet and shower facilities and a dog exercise area. If you fancy heading out for a meal or a drink, there are a couple of country inns, The Maypole and The Boar's Head, five minutes’ drive away in Long Preston.

Please be mindful that this is a rural site and the digital TV signal is very weak. Satellite hookups are provided, but you'll need your own freesat box and cable (or a built-in facility). Although there's no wifi here, there's usually great 4G mobile data coverage on site.

Please note

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.

Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Dogs are welcome and have a dedicated exercise area next to the caravan field. Strictly no dogs are allowed to run free on the main caravan site and must be kept on leads at all times.

Awning groundsheets must be breathable.

Windbreaks are not permitted.

Beautiful location. Decent showers and toilet facilities. Clean. We stayed on pitch 4 on the field next to the dry stone wall.we had lovely views. Very peaceful. Much has been made about the road being noisy. I slept well every single night. The road is occasionally noisy however it is not constant. It certainly didn’t ruin our stay. We stayed for five nights.

Superb campsite tucked away in the hills & only a few miles from Settle. Pitches are roomy & are surrounded by large conifers which gives it a real cozy feel. The owners are very nice people! Mick helped us out with a satellite box due to poor TV signal which was great 👍 toilet & shower facilities were always clean. This site has a special feel to it & we will return.

Tv Satellite aerial cable linked to dish supplied.
Shower , wash basin , toilet were decent quality and clean.

    Disliked:

Smell from Septic tank area, probably needed emptying. Drinking water taps, two per 5 van site, could do with renovating as posts tap was on was rotting and drain under tap covered with wood chipping etc. For the short distance I would T off the taps and give a drinking water supply by each pitch.

From the manager...

Gosh…we were mortified to learn that your water gathering experience was so obviously blighted by the top 10mm of the post being perished. It must have been a terrible shock for you. And, we can only imagine your dismay and horror when you were in the vicinity of the Elsan emptying point (not a septic tank) which other guests had the audacity to use…I’m afraid not everyone’s “number two’s” can radiate a lovely lavender fragrance…but when the lid is shut it does disappear.
We find it quite upsetting when people have to take to their keyboard to complain rather than do it face to face.
This is the first ever review we have responded to so we hope you feel special. Kindest regards Mick
