These routes are made for walking… Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site is in the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for hikes up Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, and right next to the wanders and strides of the Forest of Bowland, a National Landscape. Many more walks and footpaths start directly from the site; get a map from the site information office to show you on your way. Based at the village of Austwick and a 10-minute drive from the market town of Settle, the site is a peaceful and family-run site set among outstanding scenery, with horses and sheep grazing in the neighbouring fields. Dogs are welcome (on leads on site at all times, please), and a big field with a stream is allocated as a dog walk area on site. Pitches at Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site are large, flat and well-drained. Facilities include separate ladies' and gents' showers with plenty of hot water; toilets; a freezer for ice packs, and an info room with details of local attractions, events and those many local walks. A variety of homemade pizzas are available on Saturday evenings from 5pm to 8.30pm from April to early September; these can be pre-ordered from seven days before.

A well-kept, super clean site with roomy, flat pitches. Toilets and showers are top-notch and spotless, with great hot water pressure. Friendly staff and a great spot for walks. Dogs have their own space. Food's a hit, especially pizzas and bacon sarnies. Some found noise an issue and wanted more kid activities.

Liked Nice friendly welcome at Reception signalled what what doing to be a great stay.
Facilities are excellent, great pot wash, showers and even a doggie wash.
They drive around in the evening with the offer of fire pits, you can even pre-order food on a Saturday.
I loved the quiet policy and this is enforced by having the owners number who will come out and sort out any noise. Everyone respected this and the site was just full of people enjoying themselves and then went to bed. Great!

Disliked Nothing. The ground was soft but we did not dig in with our camper. Our neighbour did but the owners so helpful and came with a tractor and got them out very easily. 10/10 service.

Liked Loads of room for tents. BATHROOMS were immaculate, the cleanest bathrooms I've ever come across on a campsite. Staff were friendly and helpful and the info centre had lots of leaflets about local walks and attractions

Liked Large site, shop selling provisions, very clean toilets and good dish washing areas. We did a short walk from the site which was nice. Excellent WiFi signal.

Disliked Pitches seemed quite close together compared to other sites we have been.
Walk to the toilet from the pitches on the far side of the field was quite far.

Liked Spacious pitches, great WiFi as I needed to do some work whilst there. Immaculate showers and toilets, nice and hot. Fantastic location for Ingleborough, the three peaks and malham cove. We also rented a fire pit for the evenings. Shop onsite has a good range of everyday items. Big kitchen also there, to serve food from but unfortunately wasn't available for our stay, maybe next time. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Liked we love everything about this site! It is well situated with lovely walks. The people are friendly and helpful. The facilities are fantastic and so clean, having a shop is also very handy. We have been here several times and will always come back. Look forward to seeing Gary & Enid, 2 wonderful friendly bulldogs. See you soon!

The Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent in close range are a topping location for walkers – if you're here to hike, see if you can complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to tackle the 24 miles around all three in one day. Orcaber Caravan Camping Site is also near the famed Ingleton Waterfalls Trail for woodland-based walks among spectacular northern scenery, and within easy driving distance of the waterfalls, stalactites and tours of the spectacular White Scar Caves, the longest show cave in the UK. Also recommended by the Orcaber team are the Settle to Carlisle railway line, through 73 miles of spectacular countryside through the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines, and passing splendid Ribblehead viaduct. The limestone formation of Malham Cove, a famed Yorkshire Dales beauty spot, is also a popular local spot. Yet more walks, hikes and heaps more spectacular scenery are at the Lake District National Park, about an hour's drive away.
