  • On the banks of the River Severn, two miles from Worcester city centre
  • Close to the M5, 15 minutes' drive from the Malvern Hills
  • Fishing on site; riverside walk from site to city centre
City strolls or countryside wanders – which one might you fancy while on your Worcestershire break? If the answer is ‘a bit of both, actually’ then you’ll likely find Ketch Caravan Park a most convenient spot indeed. This peaceful and family-friendly park with spacious pitches is on the banks of the River Severn, around two miles from Worcester city centre. A riverside footpath runs from the site to the city’s shops and attractions; alternatively you can drive it in five minutes or so. As well as providing pleasant strolls into town, the river also supplies a pretty backdrop for the site, with the Malvern Hills visible in the distance (another good place for lovely long stroll, of course). Guests can go fishing in the river directly from the site too. Getting in, out and around to local attractions is very straightforward from here: the park is handily placed close to the A4440 and only a few minutes’ drive from the M5. That makes it both a nifty stopover point on a longer motorway journey and a good place to settle for rural rambles (with a dog, if you’ve got one you’d like to bring along on holiday) and days out visiting the likes of Tewkesbury, Snowshill Manor and Evesham. Barbecues are allowed on site, and there’s a rather handy supermarket just outside the site for supplies if you don’t fancy the trip to town for dinner. As for the site’s own facilities, they include a modern amenities block with showers and toilets including a family room and wet room, a laundry room and a washing-up area. There is also a chemical disposal point on site.

What customers say

Great riverside spot near Worcester, friendly staff, clean new loos. Shops and pubs handy. Some found facilities a bit far, heard road noise, and ongoing work affected presentation.

Liked By the river if you like fishing, nearby pubs and Aldi supermarket.

Disliked One water tap for about twenty tourers, long uphill walk to shower block and empty grey waste and chemical toilet, not good if you are an older person or have a disability.Showers are impossible to control and extremely hot even dangerous. The upper part of the site is being developed into a static caravan site, all very close together, could get very busy and noisy when finished.

From the manager: Thank you for your review,
I cant understand what difference the static pitches would make to you?

We say over and over you have to walk to top level for facilities
There are 5 water taps on site, The toilet block has planning permission to be where it is, Away from the river edge for obvious reasons.
Please read reviews if you are going to be happy to leave them!!!!!!!

Liked The toilets were a lot closer than other reviews make out. The toilets and showers were really clean.

The tent pitches are nicely separated, and doesn’t feel overcrowded or overlooked.

Liked Plenty of space on the pitch. Facilities were clean and modern. Good location - the road noise wasn't a bother for us at all as it wasn't busy during the night. Toby Carvery & bar right by the entrance. Friendly and helpful staff. It was nice being right by the river.

Disliked The facilities block is a long walk from the pitches. I was prepared for this as I had read previous reviews but the sheer distance still surprised me. The site owner has explained on many posts here why the block is located at the back of the site and it is a perfectly legitimate reason. Having to walk around the perimeter of the entire site is where the issue is. It would be nice to have a walkway through the centre of the site between the touring pitches and facilities block to half the walk. It's not a deal breaker but something for people booking to be aware of and hopefully some constructive criticism for the owners to take on board.

Liked We had a great holiday, stayed for 6 nights. Lovely pitch by the river with lovely views of the Malverns. Toilets were spotless, always full of toilet roll. Showers were amazing, better than home and free. Good washing up facilities. Fellow campers were nice and quiet. Great location easy to find and sooo convenient with supermarket close by. Also great walk along river to Worcester.

Disliked Unfortunately I do have to mention the road noise. Only noticed on first day but then it was fine. It does go quiet during the night.

Liked Really nice little site very friendly enjoyed our stay

Disliked How far to empty waste water and toilet waste, had to drive up with waste as close to where you come in.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: thank you for a kind review,
I am keen to say toilets and shower, chemical waste etc is up on the higher level, the touring field floods out of season.
Best wishes

Local attractions

Presumably you’ll want to start in Worcester – and that’s a good choice, whether you amble along the riverbank or take the five-minute drive. Once you’re in the city centre, stop by at the cathedral and the Tudor House Museum for a sense of the area’s history and admire the pretty pieces on display at the Museum of Royal Worcester. There’s more history to be explored at places like the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings (20 minutes’ drive), where you can see a collection of restored and rebuilt buildings of various kinds, and the smart Eastnor Castle (half an hour) and Snowshill Manor and Gardens (40 minutes). Meanwhile, music buffs can follow the Elgar Route to take in some of the scenery that inspired the composer and see some of the places where he lived and worked. For some outdoor time, explore the grounds of Spetchley Park Gardens (five minutes), which has been in the same family for over 400 years, or head to the highest point in the Malvern Hills at Worcestershire Beacon (20 minutes).
