  • On the banks of the River Severn, two miles from Worcester city centre
  • Close to the M5, 15 minutes' drive from the Malvern Hills
  • Fishing on site; riverside walk from site to city centre
City strolls or countryside wanders – which one might you fancy while on your Worcestershire break? If the answer is ‘a bit of both, actually’ then you’ll likely find Ketch Caravan Park a most convenient spot indeed. This peaceful and family-friendly park with spacious pitches is on the banks of the River Severn, around two miles from Worcester city centre. A riverside footpath runs from the site to the city’s shops and attractions; alternatively you can drive it in five minutes or so. As well as providing pleasant strolls into town, the river also supplies a pretty backdrop for the site, with the Malvern Hills visible in the distance (another good place for lovely long stroll, of course). Guests can go fishing in the river directly from the site too. Getting in, out and around to local attractions is very straightforward from here: the park is handily placed close to the A4440 and only a few minutes’ drive from the M5. That makes it both a nifty stopover point on a longer motorway journey and a good place to settle for rural rambles (with a dog, if you’ve got one you’d like to bring along on holiday) and days out visiting the likes of Tewkesbury, Snowshill Manor and Evesham. Barbecues are allowed on site, and there’s a rather handy supermarket just outside the site for supplies if you don’t fancy the trip to town for dinner. As for the site’s own facilities, they include a modern amenities block with showers and toilets including a family room and wet room, a laundry room and a washing-up area. There is also a chemical disposal point on site.

Liked: This easy to find, 'work in progress' site will be a 'little gem' when completed.
Whilst a lot of work is going on at the site, it did not impact our weekend away.
Close to motorway/main roads, but road noise minimal (so minimal that you don't even notice it). Very peaceful, beautiful views and chilled.
2 min walk to Toby Carvery, Aldi & B&M, 3 min walk to Harvester. 5 min walk to Bus Stop for Worcester City Centre.
Walks along the riverside.
Jake, the Site Manager was a lovely young chap, very friendly & helpful.
Toilet Block clean & tidy and the Rainfall Showers fab.
We will definetely be returning for weekend get-aways as long as we can bring our Dog.

Disliked: Confusing information about Dog types accepted/not accepted. The Ketch Webside states Dogs Welcome on leads, etc.

Via Pitch-up it states: The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

My disappointment is not accepting the following, Staffordshire Bull Terrier - we have a very well behaved Staffordshire Bull Terrier - which is NOT on the Dangerous Dogs Act - so do not understand these being banned on the site. Our Staffy has travelled with us on hundreds of Motorhome holidays and never been refused to stay on any campsite?

Also, Pitch-Up suggests 20p to use the Showers - this is incorrect, there is not extra charge.

Liked: The walk into the city

Disliked: The new lay out. It's a very long way to the toilet/ shower block.
It seems the path up the bank has been removed to site another couple of statics.
The showers cubicles are very small and all feels quite cheap, toilet seats already loose etc. They weren't cleaned during our 4 day stay, but luckily it wasn't busy
I couldn't see an accessible shower or toilet and considering tourers are providing the only revenue at the moment, it seems we are a bit of an afterthought. We did climb the bank and walk in between the static plots( sorry) as we dont have mobility issues but anyone who does will struggle walking all the way round. Of course we wouldnt do that when there are statics in place, so sadly it does affect our desire to come back.

Liked: How peaceful it was and staff friendly

Disliked: Toilets and shower block to far away
Also waste water to far away
The steps to go to the toilet/shower block are way to steep
Anyone with walking difficulties would not cope with it all .

Liked: Much improved on our last visit (we have family nearby).
Impressive new gateway
Newly laid tarmac roads and tidied up shrubbery give a much better impression.
New hook ups, water points, paths and service point. Completely refurbished toilet block with laundry room is a huge improvement.
There were lots of new static pitches which have yet to be occupied when we visited, as a consequence the the areas between still needs turfing /planting out, although it was apparent that some plants have started to be put in.
The location is convenient for Worcester and getting onto the road network.
The site itself is well positioned next to the river and with supermarket and B&M plus a pub next door.

Disliked: You can hear the road noise from the flyover but it's not too bad.

Liked: The river, toilet block was new and very clean. Showers a bit small. Need steps in middle of bank as long way round either way. Noisy motorway very close but loved proximity to town centre.

Disliked: Need steps in middle of bank for easy access to toilets, showers and washing up

Liked: Great spot on the river with a lovely walk along the river to Worcester. Great value for money compared to a lot of sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a new shower block and were clean and tidy. There's only 22 pitches so not busy. The site is shared with a static caravan park which as been upgraded and awaiting new vans. I would definitely return.

Disliked: Distance to the elsan and fresh water but I understand the bottom field can flood in the winter.

From the manager: Thank you for a kind review, yes the toilet block is up on the high level of the site as the bottom section floods each year.
Pleased you enjoyed your stay

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay. It gave the kids the opportunity to actually play and be kids. They met friends on site to play with, and there are things not far from site for kids to do.

Disliked: The toilets need to be cleaned daily as well and the showers. The toilet paper needs replenished every day.

Local attractions

Presumably you’ll want to start in Worcester – and that’s a good choice, whether you amble along the riverbank or take the five-minute drive. Once you’re in the city centre, stop by at the cathedral and the Tudor House Museum for a sense of the area’s history and admire the pretty pieces on display at the Museum of Royal Worcester. There’s more history to be explored at places like the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings (20 minutes’ drive), where you can see a collection of restored and rebuilt buildings of various kinds, and the smart Eastnor Castle (half an hour) and Snowshill Manor and Gardens (40 minutes). Meanwhile, music buffs can follow the Elgar Route to take in some of the scenery that inspired the composer and see some of the places where he lived and worked. For some outdoor time, explore the grounds of Spetchley Park Gardens (five minutes), which has been in the same family for over 400 years, or head to the highest point in the Malvern Hills at Worcestershire Beacon (20 minutes).
