  • Adults-only dog-friendly site near the Shropshire/Staffordshire border
  • A 20-minute drive to Ironbridge Gorge; Wenlock Edge 40 minutes
  • Within a five-minute drive of three pubs and Weston Park
If you like to take a walk or few while you’re away, settling somewhere along the Shropshire/Staffordshire border is a very good idea. And that’s exactly where The Willows Caravan Park sits, opening up options for all sorts of trails across these two scenic counties. Ironbridge Gorge is 20 minutes’ drive away too, and this adults-only Shropshire site is also peaceful, pet-friendly and pretty handily positioned for getting out to pubs, tea rooms and plenty of other places to eat and shop… In fact, there are three pubs and restaurants within a five-minute drive of the site, in Great Chatwell (a 35-minute walk if you’d rather go on foot), Pave Lane and Tong. The market towns of Shifnal and Newport are within a 10-minute drive, plus Telford is only a 20-minute drive away if you're in need of additional convenient amenities. Perhaps you’d like to visit the tea rooms at the garden centre just outside of Albrighton, 10 minutes’ drive away. And with there being a restaurant at the 17th-century Weston Park, five minutes’ drive away, there really is a lot of choice. That's a lot of time dedicated to eating and drinking, so if you find yourself craving a nice long walk, a cycle or some wildlife watching, make your way over to the Shropshire Hills or Cannock Chase, two National Landscapes about half an hour’s drive away. Back on site it’s a simple setup, so don't expect heaps of fancy facilities. All the essentials are covered though, with toilets, showers and a chemical disposal point for guests to use.

Liked Nice layout, toilet block clean and well presented, enjoyed our stay nice and peaceful, will be back.

Disliked Only a suggestion, one shower for the size of site slightly an issue! for camper vans.

From the manager: Hi,
Thanks for taking time to leave a review.

Regards extra shower facilities.... guidance states our facilities are suitable for up to 30 pitches.

We have not had a lack of shower facilities raised as any concern previously but thanks for bringing this to our attention.
If this becomes a issue - we will look into extra provision.

Pleased you enjoyed your stay.

Liked Our 2nd stay, cracking little hidden gem. Lovely pitch sizes, everything you need on the pitch including water/electric. Lovely scenery, nice and quiet. Toilet blocks are nice and clean. The Red Lion pub is about 2miles up the road, lovely pub and great selection of food and drinks after a nice walk. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this site 😍 - we will be back.

Liked Lovely little site, well maintained, nice toilet block facility, nice and clean. Locked main gate.

Disliked A bit noisy from main road. Big dog walking field is just a ploughed over grown/crops farmers feild, uneven ground to walk on. Don't think toilets are checked much when you're there because bin full and ran out of paper towels ect. I must be prepared next time!

From the manager: Hi Sandra,

Glad you got used to the noise!!
So sorry, sometimes, we do have traffic noise and this can vary dependant on time of day, weather flows etc.
We apologise but this is beyond our control. Glad it did not disrupt your stay too much though.

I do apologise regards paper towel dispenser, the toilets are checked frequently and I can only apologise for the paper towels dispenser. This has NEVER happened before The dispenser was full on Monday and we have not had too many visitors in between so I do not understand how the dispenser is empty so quickly. Apologies again, this should be checked more often.
Thanks for letting me know.

Liked We had a wonderful stay at this caravan park. The site itself was beautiful, peaceful, and exceptionally quiet, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The toilet and shower facilities were excellent—spotlessly clean, very well maintained, and clearly looked after to a high standard. The washing-up area was also clean, tidy, and pleasant to use.

As dog owners, we were particularly impressed with the dog walking facilities. The park has two massive dog walking fields, giving dogs plenty of space to run and exercise safely, which was a real bonus.

Overall, this is a fantastic, well-kept site with excellent facilities and a lovely atmosphere. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful caravan park, especially those travelling with dogs.

Disliked Not really a dislike more of a suggestion. The only issue we experienced was finding the site entrance. The signage from the main road was either very small or difficult to spot, and there didn’t appear to be clear directions at the point where we needed to turn onto the lane. Our satnav simply announced that we had arrived at our destination, which made locating the entrance a little confusing. It was only after we had driven to the other end of the lane and turned around that we noticed the Willows sign. Clearer and more visible signage from the main road would make arriving at the site much easier for first-time visitors.

From the manager: Hi Rachel,

Thanks for your review.

Thanks for kindly recognising in your review that our facilities are spotlessly clean and our site is very well maintained. We are pleased you enjoyed our dog walking fields too.

We work exceptionally hard to ensure we provide a well maintained and clean site.

I am surprised to note you had difficulty finding our site. We have never had any issue with people finding us before. Usually, the satnav would bring you straight to us. My apologies for any distress regards this. We will look into the feasibility of having more prominent signage.

Kind regards,
Kerry,
Willows Caravan & Camping.

Liked Everything!! Beautiful location, convenient just over half a mile walk to the closest pub. Clean facilities and smooth communication. We only love 25mins away and this site is now our ‘goto’ for a close after work weekend

Disliked Not disliked but there is a little road noise but really not a dislike!

Local attractions

This is an excellent area for walks, especially if you head east to the Cannock Chase National Landscape (half an hour’s drive) or west to the Shropshire Hills for top spots like Wenlock Edge and The Lawley (both 40 minutes). There’s also golf, fishing and horse riding close by, or you could opt for a gentler day out with a ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth station (half an hour). If you’ve got an eye for gorgeous gardens, you’re in for a real treat at Weston Park (five minutes), where the gardens around the 17th-century mansion were designed by Capability Brown. To add a bit more history to your break, make a visit to the Royal Air Force Museum Midlands (10 minutes) or spend the day exploring Ironbridge Gorge (25 minutes) – this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to 10 wonderful museums including Blists Hill Victorian Town and the Coalport China Museum – plus the iron bridge itself, of course.
