  • Family-run site with on-site fishing and a café
  • Steps from the Shropshire Union Canal
  • Adults-only and dog-friendly; canalside for dog walks
If you had thoughts on an ideal setting for a hol between England and Wales, Hadley Park might well be it. It's in the Shropshire countryside on the border with Wales, next to the Shropshire Union Canal, and a handsomely scenic walk from Whitchurch, Shropshire's oldest market town. Hadley Park is a family-owned and run site that's set up for adults only. It has a small pond where guests can fish – for a fee; a big sundeck overlooking the pond, and a fully licensed on-site café serving fresh local produce. You can also have your hair smartened up in the Hadley Park salon: just enquire when booking using the details in your booking confirmation email. Amenities include a launderette and a washing-up area; there's also a chemical disposal point, and a modern well-kept toilet and shower block with disabled facilities. The park is adults-only and welcomes well-behaved dogs. A service station with fast food and coffee outlet is 400 yards away.

What customers say

Peaceful adults-only spot with spotless facilities and a great canal-side location. Lovely walks, clean showers, good cafe food. Many want to return, loving the well-kept grounds and friendly staff. Minor road noise/pitch issues didn't spoil it.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Very friendly people at reception, Great cafe!
Camping ground was easily accessible and beautiful, the ground was flat, solid, very close to amenities! I stayed in my hot tent and thoroughly enjoyed the experience even in -5c!
The fishing lake and hut with fire pit and seating was a lovely extra!

Disliked Place was great but do expect some road noise.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked Location great, onsite cafe, facilities close and centre, lovely walks along the canal

Disliked On arrival first night, a large gang of adults at one of the pods, a lot of loud music, but seemed to be taken care of, as eventually stopped and they disappeared ☺️

Dog poo bag left on pitch, ( untidy people?) full dog bins,

Toilet seats slightly tired,

Road noise.

Track needs sorting

Liked Good pitches on a nice site right next to the canal. Whitchurch not far away and is a lovely place to visit. Would definitely come back to Hadley park but in the summer months next time. Great for the dog's. They loved the play area

The Little Barn camping pod

Liked It was so cute and cosy and surprisingly warm - it had a microwave, cutlery, plates, kettle etc. I loved all the little lamps in there, it made the space feel super relaxing and peaceful

Disliked Nothing really! Maybe tea and coffee etc but we brought our own so it was fine 🙂

Joyce camping pod

Liked The pod was lovely, tidy and clean. The toilet block was the same and kept nice and warm. We really enjoyed our stay

Disliked Wouldnt say disliked but perhaps the place will benefit from growing some conifers along the edge of the adjacent road that will help drown out minor traffic noise. Not a negative, just an idea

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked Great facilities block and a really nice cafe. The pitch was nice and level with nice views over the pond. Great location for walking along the canal to Whitchurch and Grindley locks

Disliked Very potholed drive from the road to the pitches. Our Moho was quite muddy on arrival at the pitch. Gravel around the pitch was a bit patchy allowing puddles to form which made it look a bit scruffy.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked Liked everything about this lovelybl site, it was so relaxing, and tranquil, the toilet and shower block is rhe best ive seen on any site ive stayed at in the past, all the staff were so friendly and helpful, the maintenance man couldn't do enough for us to make sure our stay was as good as can be, we met the owner Paul who was also so friendly, and helpful.

Disliked The fully serviced pitches are a bit narrow, and the drainage and the water tap was not positioned the best for a fully serviced pitch
, the WiFi was poor signal, and couldn't get a signal in the caravan.

Local attractions

Staying close to home from Hadley Park, the old Shropshire town of Whitchurch is less than a mile away, and the walks of the Sandstone Trail as well as the hacks of the Bishop Bennet Way are easily accessible via the Shropshire and Union Canal on site. Elsewhere, several famed Shropshire and Cheshire sights are within 20 miles of the park, like Chester Cathedral and the city's Roman ruins and amphitheatre; Chester Zoo and Chester Racecourse; the fab follies of Hawkestone Park, and the llamas, alpacas and 50 acres of greenery of Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Nearby Shrewsbury is famed for its annual flower show and for its Darwin Trail commemorating the life and work of evolution dude Charles Darwin who was born in the town. More modernly, a good range of plays are held at the new Severn Theatre and several riverside pubs and restaurants are around at which to while the night away. The bars, cafés and independent shops of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Llangollen are within driving distance: other top town picks are a picnic in Riverside Park, a stroll along Victoria Promenade, and a steam straight ahead on the Llangollen Railway.
