What customers say
Great family spot! Spacious sites, clean facilities, friendly vibe. Kids love the animals (goats!), playground, bouncy castles. On-site food & shop handy. Train noise mentioned, some upgrades needed, but excellent value for a chill break. Many will be back.

Fine for me. Lacking finesse for many. I'd stay there again.
Unpowered grass site
Liked Space. Freedom. Adequate facilities.
Disliked My wife was not keen on the rustic services. Dog owners exercising (going for a poo!) On the camping field. They always picked it up, but not a pleasant thought when pitching up in future. Rather random hours of shop and bar.

Regular cleaning necessary
Unpowered grass site
Liked My children really enjoyed feeding the goats, and the playground with the bouncy castles was a big hit. The on-site shop is well-stocked with everything you might need for camping, and the prices are very reasonable.
Disliked That said, there are a few things that could be improved. There’s no barrier at the entrance, so anyone can come and go at any time. Personally, I prefer campsites with a barrier that’s closed at night—it just feels safer.
We stayed from Saturday to Tuesday in the lower part of the campsite, and unfortunately, the toilets in that area weren’t cleaned at all during our stay. While toilet paper was restocked, the floors and toilet facilities were in a poor state. I understand these toilets are older than the ones near reception, but they still need regular cleaning.
The showers were only cleaned once while we were there, and with only four shower blocks available, it didn’t feel like enough to handle the weekend crowds.

16-amp powered grass site
Liked Loved the site. Booked it last minute and we were lucky to get the last spot with electric hook-up.
Staff were great.
Site is brilliant if you have children. And even if you don't it's a great site to visit. And the onside bat and shop was a great addition for us.
Just a shame we didn't find the site earlier or we would have definitely stayed a few extra nights
