What customers say
Peaceful riverside spot with stunning views & river access. Back-to-basics with friendly owner. Basic portaloos (cleanliness debated). Glamping guests get showers. Ideal for wild camping vibes.

Perfect back to basics camping in beautiful riverside spot
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Absolutely beautiful location. Loads of space (only 4 pitches taken when I was there) and all on the river bank.
Exactly what I hoped for - nothing but the sounds and smells of nature.
Pub is 10mins walk away and was open on a Monday (bonus).
Friendly farmer host. Perfectly simple set up. Price being per person rather than per van makes it amazing for solo travellers too. One of the best spots I’ve found so far I’d say. Thank you Preston Campsite!
Yes the portaloos are ‘basic’ but for one more than sufficient, and keeps the location unspoilt and beautiful 👌🏻
Disliked Nothing at all

Liked Panoramic views of the hills and sunset, with pitches next to the river. Wild camping feel but with water station and 4 loos.
Owner on site on arrival and easily contactable.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Absolutely terrible nothing good.
Disliked Turned up on a Friday evening too absolutely no space to pitch a small tent drove up and down not any space due to cars parked next to tents and to many people. Ran the number on the site went immediately to voice mail. So spent 50 odd quid for a weekend camping and couldn’t even go. Absolute joke. Avoid.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked The location next to the river is a massive draw. its amazing. its peaceful and beautiful. the strech along the river where people camp is long enough but people do need to be considerate. easy access to the river for swimming and paddleboarding which we did. Theres a sink and tap for washing up and drinking which is great. its a very back to basic campsite.
Disliked The one thing that would make this place a 10 for me is somwhere to shower and the portaloos are ok. good quality tissue and plenty of it but sometimes the smell but what do you expect with portaloos. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED FIRES. due to the dryness of the soundings so just keep that in mind.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Idyllic location right next to the river Wye with easy access. Perfect for dogs who like to swim. We were by ourselves for one night and it was bliss of you like wild or nearly wild camping.
Porta loos are the same every where so it isn't a gripe but a necessary evil, luckily we were in a campervan with our own toilet so no issues.
