Liked A superb stay at this gem of a campsite. Greeted by Helen, who although busy gave each customer the time needed to explain the site and all it has to offer. Very clean toilet block and plenty of space for each camper.
A real highlight for us was the lake that we could swim in. We had a wonderful swim in the lake with steps to make entry nice and easy.
Loved this site and we will be back. 😊

Unpowered grass site

Liked Clean toilets and showers. Swimming in the pond, and the natural surroundings. The staff were lovely and friendly.

Disliked Paying additional charges for a fire and gazebo. We didn't bother. Please remind your guests that if they let their dogs wander off lead they should still clear up after them.

From the manager: Thank you very much for your review, we’re delighted that you enjoyed your stay.
We ask that dogs are kept on leads in and around the camping pitches. There are designated areas where dogs can go off the lead with lots of waste bins around. We hope that you visit again and if you do see this happen please do bring our attention to it so that we can address the issue.
Many thanks for your time

Liked The place is very well looked after, all facilities are clean and tidy. It's peaceful and quiet, we had a nice weekend rest. Great place to have fun over the lake and to do nothing and just chill out with a bbq or fire pit and a couple of beers. Nice place for walks.
And it's just 1.6 miles away from Aldi, so if you run out of anything that's an easy and cheap stock up.

Liked This is a gorgeous location with stunning views and close proximity to town for all your essentials/balancing the townie and country life.
Lake swimming, there's also fishing and can take a SUP or inflatable. View of the lake is restricted from the shore and it doesn't have a paddle area so wasn't that suitable for my youngest at 1yr, but the kids loved jumping off the pier.

We loved it.

Disliked We attended in the heat 25°+ so we'd have liked a bit more shade around the pitches, although that is available in on side wooded areas so it can hardly count as a minus.

Local attractions

Nearby Ledbury is a lovely little market town famed for its cobbled streets and black and white timber-framed buildings: look out for and take a snap of the Market House in the town centre. The town is at almost equal distance from the cathedral towns or 'Three Counties' of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester and a day should surely be had at each: Gloucester for its Harry Potter-scened cathedral and many museums; Hereford for the Old House, Hereford Cider Museum and Hereford Cathedral's Mappa Mundi; and Worcester for its library The Hive and the Three Choirs Festival (Worcester Cathedral by night is a spectacular sight too). The countryside surrounding Woodside Country Park is known for its Herefordshire sights like hopyards, cider orchards and Hereford cattle, while walkers and cyclists come to this part of the land to hike or bike the Malvern Hills and the Forest of Dean.
