What customers say
A top spot for a no-frills camping trip with amazing views. Friendly hosts, good value, and pick your own spot. Basic but clean facilities. Great for Peak District walks and pubs. Some pitches are sloped, BYO loo roll!

Great location, quiet, peaceful, friendly owners.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Friendly owner who came for a chat and made sure everything was okay.
Quiet and peaceful location, with stunning views in every direction. Basic facilities but clean and everything you needed. You also get to choose your own pitch which is nice.
Make sure you have chocs/ramps for vans as some parts of the site aren't level.

A superb, simple, Wild Canping site in a quiet, rural location.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Superb location with great views over the Derbyshire hills and valleys, open approach to pitching, which was great as it was a varied terrain field and getting the right spot was essential for levelling.
I love minimal facilities sites and the purpose built wooden flushing toilets, urinals and wash-up sinks were just what I needed and wanted.
The owner came to visit and check if I had paid via Pitch-up, very chatty and friendly, lovely welcome.
Loved the on site car wheel fire pits, sticking the 3 spikes into the grass is so much sturdier & safer than other options I have seen!
Happy there are no showers on site, it keeps campers moving through and frees up the good pitches faster!
Surrounded by farms, so plenty of cows, sheep and abundant birdsong to brighten your stay!
Disliked Toilets are well built and well maintained, and so I know the lowest wood panels are probably raised off the concrete to avoid rot, but a board filling most of the gap - to avoid a cold wind blowing up the valley (and up my valley!) on chilly days -would be greatly appreciated! 😁
Perhaps a roof and windshield around the wash up sinks could come next? 🙌🏼

Liked Absolutely loved this site, toilets , water and chemical waste are the only services provided.
The scenery surrounded it is stunning as our the walks.
Friendly owner that visits you on your first night.
You can arrive and choose your pitch. We will definitely return.
Bring your own loo roll and if you’re in a van you’ll need chocks as the grass pitches are not level.

Peaceful site in a fab location.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Quiet area for a campsite. Lovely views of the country.. also found a fab walk down to the Lathkill valley along the River Lathkill (found the circular on the app All Trails).
Toilets and winks were clean (don't forget to bring your own toilet roll). Nice place to view the sunrise too.
Disliked Most of the site is a bit sloped, some areas more than others. But did find a flatter section near the bottom.
The large bin at the entrance was very full so had to leave it on the floor next to the bin.
