What customers say
A popular, no-frills site with great views and friendly owners. Basic but clean facilities, own pitch choice, and reasonable prices. Ideal for exploring the Peak District. Some sloping pitches, BYO toilet roll.

Beautiful wild camping feel
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Beautiful views, remote location. Only people there on a chilly night in early May. Lovely wild camping feel with benefits of toilets and running water
Disliked There were loo roll card inners left laying around in the toilets.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Loved this campsite, very grassroots camping vibe couldn’t ask for a better atmosphere for getting back to basics. The guy who runs it is lovely comes round daily with wood for the fire pits very affordable. Cannot speak highly enough of this place will definitely be coming back and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to do some wild camping

Basic facilities & respectful campers made for a wild, cosy experience
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked The rope-swing and hammock in the wooded enclosure was a nice surprise. We found a quiet corner although slightly uneven (just like our garden) facilities were exactly as stated. Even though it was fairly popular (including with a large group of younger converted van campers) everyone was very respectful and calm after about 10pm (unlike the campsite up the road); the gentle strums of an acoustic guitarists around a campfire helped lull my daughter to sleep
Disliked Toilet taps very cold and fast, so careful not to drench yasen!
Sadly there were no other children were in our side of the field, which can't be helped and we missed the ice cream van, as were still tryna carry my daughter home from the Lathkill hotel and escape yappy farmhouse dogs!

Great site with clean facilities. Spectacular views & helpful owner
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked I liked the wild camping element where there was just toilets and water. I had a beautiful view over Lathkill Dale in my microcamper over the very sunny May bank holiday.
The second day it became very busy and I was expecting a lot of noise, but there was none, and everyone was quiet and respectful.
I walked the mile to Over Haddon the first day, admiring the stunning views, and had a drink and meal overlooking the dale.
Neil the owner of the site, and was very helpful, recommended the circular walk through Lathkill Dale, which was a spectacular walk through a forest, past a river and small waterfalls. Take the left turning out of the site and walk half a mile to Mill Farm to start the walk and follow the pathway to Over Haddon and back to the campsite. It’s well worth it.
