Love the peace and quiet of…

Sept 2026

Liked Love the peace and quiet of this site. Great proximity to New Quay and Aberearon. Facilities are only basic but more than adequate. The guy who welcomed us was very friendly and chatty and even very understanding and helpful when the van playing up when we arrived. The highlight is definitely the kites and the feeding, such an intimate experience.

Welcome from the guy was lovely…

Sept 2023

Liked Welcome from the guy was lovely and very accomodating. Toilets were clean and dry and washing up facilities were appropriate. Lovely dog walking path and poo bins sensibly placed. Very pretty site for the 'front row' by the river.

Disliked Showers were not overly pleasant, there was nice temp of water but the cubicles were very outdated and you just didn't feel overly clean when leaving. The pitch sizes were not massive meaning people walked very close to the tent which our dog became quite vocal about. Some clientele definitely let the site down, leaving washing up sinks dirty, teenagers sounding like howler monkeys and no consideration towards other users. Also there were frequently wafts of the chemical disposal area smell. Ended up leaving a day early. Maybe sounds a bit petty to some but this looked like it would be a nice relaxing site for the end of a mini tour of Scotland but it was by far the least relaxing. Some of this was due to other visitors but the showers and waste smell could be worked on.

The best of 4 stops in Scotland, would love to go back, wildlife wow!

Sept 2023

Liked Just wow. What a location! The views are amazing, had red deer on site, swam in the loch and was joined by a seal and an otter just a morning stroll away. Facilities are great, I didn't need accessible facilities but nice to see they are offered. Good signage around helps as there were no staff to be seen.

Disliked We stayed for four nights and on the fourth night we heard strange noises... Turned out a small mammal had been eating out tent underneath and making a nest (not the sites fault but if you hear chewing then beware!). Didn't like not being able to park next to pitch to unload, but car park at the back did mean good views.

Nice dog friendly site in a good location.

Sept 2023

Liked Clean and pleasant facilities. Lovely location, friendly staff. Dog friendly.

Disliked Same as other sites but not being able to park the car by the electric tent pitch is very inconvenient when you have a large tent and several days worth of stuff. Also being the furthest point from the loo block when you are in tents which obviously need access to loos while the statics and giant motorhomes which come with loos are right next to them never makes sense to me.

Lovely site, enjoyed our stay but will probably be a one time stop

Jul 2023

Liked Beautiful location, handy for Snowdonia. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn't see all the facilities, we just used the little shepherds hut toilet and shower which did the job (shower was nice and warm). Made use of the pizza van (not always there). Stream looked lovely but too many others using it for our dog to be comfortable.

Disliked The location does sometimes lend itself to some pretty strong winds, be aware if in leisure tents! It's one of those sites where you are quite close together with someone immediately opposite. No restrictions on noise, fine if you want to party but not helpful if you were up all the night before holding onto your tent in the wind and need some zzz after 11.

Failry priced quiet piece of welsh countryside

Jun 2022

Liked We went at what turned out to be a very quiet time - for the first night there only seemed to be another 3 pitches/vans in use on the whole site. It was absolute peace and quiet. By the second night the two glamping pods were occupied and still the site felt empty (in a good way). This all meant we had undisturbed views of the sheep fields and hills in the distance. The dog area allows for off-lead time for the dogs which is great Wifi was helpful as the signal in the area is quite poor. The outdoor washing up area was clean and sheltered. The toilets and family room were clean and pleasant (except for spiders which doesn't bother me). The shower cubicles looked interesting - husband said they were fine but I used the family room. This site was a lot cheaper than our usual stays, so although the facilities were definitely "basic but adequate" I think that the site is very fairly priced. It was a friendly welcome and exactly what we were hoping for in terms of a low-key, quiet holiday. The kite feeding is definitely worth sticking around for. The shop is very cute and I can see the benefit of borrowing the games and DVDs etc if you go with kids or use the statics.

Disliked Not dislikes as such, but areas I feel could be improved: * Dog exercise area - could have higher fencing, especially to the livestock field side. A couple of times I had to keep one of my dogs on lead because the sheep were close and she could have jumped the fence. * Not appropriate to my stay because I was in a tent, but if I hired one of the glamping pods I think the closeness of the other one would have been a bit of a downer.

Quiet, great for a stop over, shame not everyone can follow rules

Jul 2021

Liked Location was great for a stopover on route north, not too far from the motorway at all. We liked the set up and the peace and quiet. Facilities were fine and location in terms of walks with the dogs was absolutly amazing. Spotted hare, a deer and an owl on site too!

Disliked We are a dog loving family but we do have reactive dogs and always make sure to stay where dogs must be kept on lead so other dogs do not frighten ours. On two occasions whilst walking ours towards off site on lead, an off lead dog from different familes would run up to ours out of control from their owner. We also had two different families' dogs come running onto our pitch, despite our efforts with windbreakers to make some kind of shelter. This really was a huge dampener on the whole stay. Also, probably more an issue with the county rather than just the campsite but there were no recycling facilities. And the shower facilities could provide a squeege or something so you can clean up after yourself, its never nice having to walk to into a shower with someone elses bubbles and hairs still there.
