  • Peaceful holiday park with fantastic views of Ben Nevis and beyond
  • A five-minute drive from Fort William and the Ben Nevis Visitor Centre
  • Great Glen Way within a 25-minute walk; wifi available on site
The highlight of a trip to the Highlands and Islands? Feasting your eyes on the UK’s tallest mountain range – and that’s exactly what you can do the whole time you’re settling in at the scenic (and aptly named) Ben Nevis Holiday Park. This well-maintained site in Scotland, set by the River Lochy and with lots of green space for kids to play and grownups to wander, also looks out across the Aonach Mor mountains. It makes a brill base for day trips by car, bike, train or foot in the Lochaber area as it’s just over five minutes’ drive from the centre of Fort William. Cycling and walking paths are close to this park – including the famed Great Glen Way along the Caledonian Canal (25 minutes’ stroll) – and a selection of shops and restaurants is just down the road. If you’d prefer not to venture far from base to gather supplies, a store on site sells the basics, camping supplies and local produce, while a café and takeaway serve up a range of light bites and drinks. Other conveniences at this thoughtfully run park include electric hook-ups, a coin-operated laundry room, clean toilets and showers, and laundry amenities. Families and groups are warmly welcomed here for hiking hols (or restful trips).

What customers say

A grand spot with views of Ben Nevis, near Fort William. Top-notch facilities, especially showers. Staff are grand and welcoming. Pitches are vast, and it's a peaceful haven. A few noted minor gripes about shower pressure, noise, and washing-up areas when busy.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Lovey site in great location

Disliked The smell from either the toilet block or elsan point was awful when we arrived.
We were also unable to empty our water when we were leaving as somebody had parked over the grid and would not move. We reported it but the motorhome still did not move and by this time other motorhomes had pulled up behind us. There were other motorhomes needing to empty water but couldn't. We gave up and took our waste water with us.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely little river running next to the campsite, great for dog walking. Great view of Ben Nevis.
The staff were friendly and happy to help.
There were also chickens walking around the site.

Disliked Showers and toilets shut at 9am for an hour, which is not very convenient.
The cafe didn’t have a lot of food options. When we went they only had pizza, as I’m dairy intolerant I couldn’t eat it. Had to walk to the local shops to grab something for dinner.
Get the feeling they are aiming the site towards caravans and motorhomes and not campers

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Stunning location. Waking up and being greeted by Ben Nevis! At the back of the caravan park there is also access to a beck/river?
Loved the little shop- unfortunately we were too late to enjoy anything from the cafe.
Clean showers and toilets and plenty of them.
The site itself is pretty, well kept and tidy.
Easy check in process.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Friendly, nice pitches with hedges giving privacy. Nice facilities

Disliked Despite often getting cleaned, other people leave dirty toilets; not the site's fault! While others say they liked the radio, we did not, but it's fine

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The beautiful view was the only bonus
Fully serviced pitch was overgrown with left over cigarette ends.
Toilets were rotten by the evening even though they were said to be cleaned at 3 points during the day
Cafe stated toilets were available during cleaning time but closed on Tuesday and Wednesday so not much help!

Best breakfast a place to visit called bistro opposite farm foods is a must dog friendly lovely food staff fantastic serving from 8am if you need early start.

Disliked No organisation with campers and tents put tent where you want. New campers arrive no consideration to others with cars for us to park next to tents. . Ball games people play where ever kicking a ball bashing into cars and tents. Noise level Forget people turn up after 10pm putting tents up banging of car doors. Huts behind you partying outside till 11pm. Bitten like crazy nats swarm you morning and night.mosqitoes omg! Please come with septicide if your planning on going! I don't get bitten but I'm covered in bites. The nats you can't get away with these swam crawling over you. Face legs arms the lot! Some campers smoking weed on site not nice.

Local attractions

The owners reckon there’s something for everyone around this site, but walkers and cyclists are especially sorted when it comes to activities. If you’re up for a trek, challenge yourself to one of the trails up Ben Nevis, getting intel on which ones to tackle at the mountain range’s visitor centre, just over five minutes’ drive away. If you’re after a lazier lope, amble along the Caledonian Canal from the locks at Neptune's Staircase (25 minutes’ walk) or get your RDA of exercise by nipping in and out of the shops of Fort William (five minutes’ drive). The town has plenty of stores selling mountaineering kit if you need equipment to try out the more intense pursuits – think skiing and downhill biking – available in the area. For a family day out, make your way to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (25 minutes’ drive) and see if the kids recognise it from the Harry Potter films – the Hogwarts Express was filmed crossing this oh-so-scenic bridge. Saving perhaps the best activity till last, top off your trip by paying a visit to the whisky makers at the Ben Nevis Distillery (15 minutes’ walk) for a few drams of one of Scotland’s finest exports.
