Liked Nice hard standing pitches
Great location
Spacious campsite.

From the manager: Hi Steven, What a fantastic review — thank you. “To say one of the best campsites I’ve stayed on” is high praise indeed, especially from a seasoned solo traveller. We’re really pleased you enjoyed the compact layout, the warm and spotless facilities, and of course the cosy pub atmosphere. It’s great to hear the food and ales hit the mark too — and I’ll make sure the team see your kind words about the friendliness. That’s something we genuinely pride ourselves on. And “literally nothing not to like” is about as good as it gets — we’ll take that all day long. Thank you again for staying with us and for taking the time to leave such a generous review. We hope to see you back here again soon. Warm regards from Peter & The Team

Non-electric grass campervan pitch
Liked Location; great spot.. 5 mins drive to the North Face car park.
Disliked Arrived Friday, no reception of person to speak to, so park where you like (or where you can find).. second night much quieter so had more space and a better pitch for the van.
So so in terms of cleanliness, windows missing from one of the bathrooms, occasional sewage type smell on the site.

Electric grass and gravel motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely little peaceful campsite, fabulously hot showers, great clean facilities, beautiful spot and very friendly hosts.
Disliked A bit wet underfoot in places.

From the manager: Thank you very much for the review Steven. We can't deny it has certainly been rather wet under foot after all the rain of the last few weeks - hopefully the sun will start shining soon and we will be complaining it is too dry, like last summer. Liked Excellent clean facilities, great on site pub!
Disliked Narrow pitch meant stepping out on to grass which was muddy at this time of year.

From the manager: Thank you Steven, we appreciate your score of '8' and note your comments regarding the motor home pitches especially during the winter months.

Liked Large open site, spotlessly clean facilities, lovely friendly people. Great for the dog who had an open field next door to play in and a nice forest walk around the site.

Field non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch
Liked * Nice field pitch for our camper van, level with plenty of space.
* Secluded campsite with nice walks for the dog.
* Friendly staff.
Disliked Overpriced (no drinking water, or electric or garbage disposal for camper van pitches is fine as long as you price accordingly - labelling as Eco doesn't mean it should cost more for basic camp in a field facilities.
Bolt ons - £6 extra for a small van awning, £5 extra for the dog - Really!

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Very friendly owner. Very helpful and a lovely lady. Gave us info on the area, came by to check we had everything we needed. Made a point of saying no rush to check out as was quiet.
Campsite itself is awesome as long as you’re self contained, no showers or toilets here but electric, water and blue waste disposal no problem. Loads of space, no cramming in here.. pitches were level and lovely country pub at the end of the lane.. really couldn’t fault this camp site! Love the way the owner says this is about giving people the chance to enjoy their beautiful farm and area, not about cramming vans in for the money. A rare find! 👍🏻
