  • Peaceful family-run park next to the River Spean in Roybridge
  • A 20-minute drive from the outdoor activities hub of Fort William
  • A short walk from the village with train station and two pubs
Folk who fancy a few days of fresh air, hotfoot it up to Bunroy Caravan and Camping Park – as you may guess from its location on the banks of the River Spean and its glimpses of the mountains of the Nevis Range beyond, this peaceful nine-acre site is quite the spot for outdoorsy days. Fort William (a place that’s developed a rep as the outdoor capital of the UK) is a 20-minute drive from here, or via a train from Roy Bridge station, a leisurely five-minute saunter from the site. It’s just a short amble too to a couple of pubs for pies and pints. All around here are heaps of Highland activities: get your pulse going with days of hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, climbing, kayaking and the like, or keep things a bit more serene by taking in the gorgeous views from a cable car ride, a train trip or a wildlife-spotting cruise. Facilities on site have been kept low-key to preserve that placid rural vibe, but all the essentials are in place: among them a fast wifi connection, charging point and fridge-freezer. Guests returning damp and mucky from their antics will no doubt be chuffed to see free hot showers and a launderette.

What customers say

Great site, lovely riverside views. Dave and Trish are boss, facilities spotless (hot showers!). Good pitches, free WiFi. Handy for Highlands. Bins a bit far, showers busy at peak times, but no major dramas.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Really liked the site. The owner very pleasant and helpful. Everything you need is there and it is very clean. I booked for one night, if I had known how nice it is I would have booked for longer. Great for dogs as lovely riverside walk adjacent to site. Not a long walk but really good. Wi-Fi free and a good signal most of the time. Would highly recommend

Disliked Facilities great but not that many and very clean but we’re very crowded around 9.30- 10 PM ! Not a good time to shower!

Glen Roy camping pod

Liked Perfect location. The cleanest camping area I have been to. David just keeps cleaning and cleaning the facilities. Not a spec of dirt in the toilet. Well thought of facilities. We stayed in the camping pod(Glen Roy) which is complete with electric heater, microwave and kettle. The table and bench by the pod is a very good idea. Special mention for providing washing up liquid and sponge. There are also fridges and a freezer for campers to use. I almost forgot to mention the free WiFi. Thank you David and Trish.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Liked Ontvangst door Trish, zeer vriendelijk!
Sanitair uitstekend.
Niet ver van Glenfinnan viaduct.

Disliked De prijs, maar dat geldt voor bijna alle campings in het VK: erg duur!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked From booking last minute, to the warm welcome, to the music in the clean and bright toilets and dish soap at the washing station, not to mention the calm and peaceful, beautiful setting, and local restaurant with nice cider - this was the nicest campsite we stayed in on our tour. We really enjoyed our last night on our holiday here and would recommend it. Lovely.

Disliked Nothing.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely welcome with time taken to explain the area and facilities on offer. Clean facilities, good space available for pitching tents. Loved the campers kitchen, perfect for when needing a quick getaway in the morning and just wanting a cup of tea without having to wait for a stove!

Local attractions

Alfresco activities are within easy reach of Bunroy. Bring your walking boots for excellent hikes taking in mountain vistas and waterfalls in Glen Spean and the Nevis Range, both of which are around 20 minutes away by car, or a little further away around Glen Coe. There are some fab mountain bike trails are here too, and local outdoor centres can sort you out with all sorts of other activities including canyoning, whitewater rafting and paragliding. For something a little more relaxing, there’s a golf course 10 minutes’ drive away or you can bring your kit to fish on the Spean next to the site. If you fancy slowing the pace a little bit, take a seal-spotting boat trip from Fort William or bag a seat on the Jacobite Steam Train to cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct (which may look rather familiar to fans of the Harry Potter films).
