Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Very neat and spacious pitches, water and waste areas spotlessly clean. Dog friendly. Lovely walk to and around Watchtree Nature Reserve and short drive to Carlisle cathedral, castle and town (motorhome parking at the Castle car park). Very peaceful site, no noise from the pub which is next door. Didn't use the pub but it seemed very popular.
Disliked Nothing, all good and would recommend if you have your own toilet facility.

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked Lovely site, clean, tidy and peaceful. Close to the Barnoldswick historic circular walk and canal. Easy to exercise the dog on the very quiet lane outside.
Disliked Someone letting their dog poop behind our van, not the site owners fault. We have dogs on leads, walk them away from the pitches to poop and always pick it up. Whoever it was please be more considerate.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Well kept site, clean facilities and secure. Near to canal walk and pub. Pitches level, neat and spacious.
Disliked Dog charge made it expensive for a basic site and very noisy disturbance by seasonal pitch holders at midnight on one of the nights. Site owners apologised and said they spoke with them.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Clean toilets, lovely views, near to Braydon water and great walks for the dogs. Fisherman's Inn food nice and reasonable price. Pitches a bit sloping but well kept site.
Disliked Not really the sites fault but not as peaceful a stay as we would have liked as put between two families with very noisy children. Rest of site seemed to be quiet though. Luck of the draw I suppose.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Very peaceful and tidy site with great gravel pitches overlooking fields. Owner friendly and helpful. Maps available for walks in the local area. Dog friendly with easy access to a little wood and field for exercise. Only 15 minutes pleasant walk through a pretty village to Kirbkymoorside centre with plenty of facilities, the George and Dragon was very dog friendly. Great walks from the site or short distance to the higher moors. No showers or toilets which is reflected in the price but toilet emptying area well maintained. Some free electric included, more than enough for a campervan for a few days. Would highly recommend if you have your own facilities and want a small quiet site in this beautiful area.

Liked Nice inexpensive site with good sized pitches close to very nice warm toilet and shower block, pot wash and chemical disposal. Lovely view over the marina, close to the marina amenities/cafes and miles of lovely beach walks straight from the site. Dog friendly, free Wifi. Main street in the town is a bit run down in places but some lovely architecture and green areas off the main street and up towards the proms. Lifeboat Inn nice and dog friendly. Tandoori nice but slightly expensive. Despite the main street the site, the marina and huge beaches are worth a visit.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Lovely campsite, clean facilities, friendly staff, big tent pitch and dog friendly. Ideally located for a 15 minute riverside walk into the centre of the beautiful town. Also within easy driving distance of the beaches and Normandy landings museums, exhibitions and villages.
Disliked Not a massive problem but one camper had her dog off lead, it ran over and snapped at our dogs and we had to ask her to use a lead, she continued to walk about with the dog off lead, but it didn't come near our dogs again. We always keep our dogs on the lead and it is usually a campsite rule. I worry about snappy dogs when there are children about too which there were on this campsite.

From the manager: Thank you for your return. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are sorry to hear that there has been an issue with one of our camper's dog. It is a campsite rule and our campers are usually respectful of it, but we will try to be more vigilant. Kind regards, The Campsite Team
