Liked Love this site. Second time of visiting. This time being out of season there were very few people around so it felt like we were on our own. Hyper peaceful

Orchard non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (adults only)
Liked Fabulous quirky place. We stayed on grass in the Orchard field & it was really lovely and quiet. Just over the road was an amazing restaurant and bar; showers and even a swimming pool!

Electric grass pitch
Liked Very few people on site which was fab. I arrived late and was welcomed and shown where to go
I didn't get to use any facilities as it was a quick overnight stay
Disliked Summer time it will be hyper crowded and too close to each other for my personal taste

Electric grass campervan pitch
Liked • Staff were friendly once an initial arrival confusion was sorted.
• Loved being offered the cottage shower when the site shower broke — it was warm, clean and very welcome after a trail run.
• Peaceful, rural setting with a relaxed vibe.
• I can imagine it being a really lovely, chilled site in summer for those seeking rustic simplicity.
Disliked • Site was tricky to find — a What3Words location or clearer arrival directions would help.
• Mixed messages on where to park; being told to park on the grass, then being asked to move, was confusing and made arrival stressful.
• Electric hook-up was too far from the allocated pitch, and required a 240v adaptor that wasn’t mentioned in booking details and I don't have an adapter
• The on-site shower was broken (unavoidable, but worth noting), and the alternative cottage bathroom hadn’t been cleaned between guests (unmade bed, used towels left out).
• Washing-up area was extremely basic and not clean with cold water only, which also wasn’t mentioned in the listing.
• For £40 per night, the facilities didn’t feel reflective of the price, especially when expecting hook-up and a shower.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Where we were on the site was lovely. A huge field and no restrictions on where to park
The closeness to the river was lovely especially for my dog who loves water
Disliked The site as you come in looks tatty and regimented. Lots of tents and vans all placed very closely to together
The loos that era open were not that clean
Very close to the river which was wonderful but we were not advised there has been a ban due to blue green algae
There was a constant noise from the road

From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to leave a review. The electric pitches are smaller and closer together and they can be seen before going into the huge non-electric fields. Apologies if the cleaning was not up to our usual standard as we had a different cleaner the weekend you stayed. We were advised by the Environmental agency that the blue green algae was no longer present in the river therefore no longer a ban. The campsite is close to the road and dual carriageway depending upon where you pitch road noise can be heard at times. I am disappointed that you will not visit again with your dog as there are lots of walks through the fields and along the river for you both to enjoy.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Very quirky site! Basically a field left to meadow with a few pitches mowed. Instructions say to pitch anywhere though. I found a flat spot.
The loos were quirky with needing to add straw.
Price was great for the facilities
Disliked The loos needed some work as I couldn't lock my door
Manager of the site mentioned the field was meant to take 30. That's way too many

Electric grass pitch
Liked Really lovely quiet site which only has a max of 5 pitches. Think it would feel less spacious with all pitches taken as I had it to myself !
Mum was really lovely and brought me some eggs in the morning
The shower and loos were clean with a few homely touches there which were appreciated
Disliked I was less happy with the WiFi. I had booked the site mainly because I had some work to do and needed it. My data had run out on my mobile. The WiFi access was not given to me initially. It was an open connection and had zero speed and kept cutting off I had to buy more data in the end which had I wanted to do that I could have stayed at a cheaper site
The daughter said she was unable to help as she was at work. I've had no follow up

From the manager: I’m sorry to hear you are not pleased with our site. We did follow up as tried to call you twice as soon as we finished work and had no reply. My mum did welcome you onto site as a last minute booking and if you had specified Wi-Fi we would have recommended a pitch nearer the entrance to support your need. The WI-FI is free of charge and we are in the countryside so unable to offer super speed broadband. We also feel that our facilities are more than priced well.
