Disliked Shame restaurant close And river bus not in operation mid week Shame as the weather as great for a river cruise into York

Liked Absolutely fantastic site would to have stayed longer Staff were amazing site itself it’s spotless as were the showers / toilets / laundry room Stepping stones restaurant was an extra bonus which is on the site again the staff were very professional the view from the outside sitting area was so relaxing a lovely stream at the bottom which is great for the kids to paddle and fly fishing the dogs loved it as well to cool down Site also has 2 fishing ponds We have been here quite a few times the standards of this site is outstanding

Disliked Putrid smell of urine In the toilets especially the one on the lower site Personally I don’t agree with uni sex and showers Bit of road noise but you get accustomed to it No wifi on site

Liked Absolutely fantastic site ***** Dan the man 👍can’t do enough to make your stay exactly what you hoped for. The cafe food was delicious excellent value. Fishing ponds well stocked Dan keeps a well organised fisheries Family only took over a few weeks ago, keep up the good work, wish you all the very best for the future… we will be back 👏👏👏👏👏👍

Liked Absolutely fantastic site It’s spotless, the toilets and showers to the washing up area a credit to the staff Fresh flowers in the ladies a lovely touch Bar and restaurant is a must to visit the food is amazing Spa and pool is fantastic loved the hot tub the sauna add bonus Staff so friendly and professional Shop on site getting more stock in each day We will definitely be back soon

Disliked Toilets smelled mold and damp. Toilets need bleaching as stained No rubbish bin in toilets. No dishwashing facilities a big inconvenience when camping Overall site needs a revamp People expect sites to be clean and mentained to a high quality First impression not good when all you can see is rubbish around the site, rubbish piled high in a old coach that’s full of cardboard, Old caravans and cars rotting away. Whole site needs a bit of TLC And brought up to the standard people expect.

Liked Area of natural beauty, country park From the moment we checked in the staff made us so welcome The pitch and facilities were breathtaking Toilet & showers were all new this year they were fantastic good shower pressure Washing up station spotless Cafe area & food all good & prices to Reception area has a small shop which would benefit more if had milk & bread to sell but understand why not due to 1st year of camping site

From the manager: The facilities were built 3 years ago, cleaned several times a day. The heaters were on but these customers were the only people on site due to bad weather and continued to leave the doors wide open despite signs asking the doors to be closed to keep the heat in!! I have a burger van on site but they did not ask it to be opened at any time. They asked me where the nearest shops were on one of the many conversations I had with them and they even commented that they had plenty of food with them.

From the manager: Thank you for yoyr comments We are in the planning process to upgrade one of our toilet blocks We have 6 pot washing sinks, two southside and 4 on the Northside As many will be aware we cannot fully stock the shop in this part of the season as it is too quiet so we have a balancing act of trying to keep enough stock in without been wasteful and letting stock go out of date

Disliked Neglected site needs a face lift and a dedicated site manager Bins overflowing, toilets / showroom needs updating Very disappointed on arriving that no food available as that was one of the reasons booked site Shop closed even though a lot of people on site Reception closed but you could contact a young chap by phone

Liked Nice quite site, toilet and shower facilities spotless if your looking for a quite break I would highly recommend this site, yes it could do with modem facilities e.g dish washing area, shop for basics, wifi, but that would take the meaning of camping away. The Pub / restaurant Paul and his staff made you feel part of the family, the food was amazing. We will 100% be going back to the Carriages. Best of luck to Paul and his team
